And those who expected lightning and thunder
Are disappointed.
And those who expected signs and archangels’ trumps
Do not believe it is happening now.
As long as the sun and the moon are above,
As long as the bumblebee visits a rose
As long as rosy infants are born
No one believes it is happening now.

Only a white-haired old man, who would be a prophet,
Yet is not a prophet, for he’s much too busy,
Repeats while he binds his tomatoes:
No other end of the world there will be,
No other end of the world there will be.

The only thing I have strictly within the boundaries is (mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa) “Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny” by Lemon Demons. If we include all the “un-” songs, that stretches to “Unchained Melody” and “Under the Boardwalk” already mentioned, plus “Union Maid” by Judy Collins, “Under Your Spell” from the Buffy musical, and “The Unicorn” by the Irish Rovers.
Umm. I don’t know if I should have revealed that much about my tastes…

I’m no good at this alphabet thing, but the Midnight Oil album with U.S. Forces also has Power and the Passion, Maralinga, Tin Legs and Tin Mines and the amazing Short Memory. I hope you have the whole album.
And if you like those, live accoustic versions of Tin Legs and Short Memory are included on The Real Thing, which is another album you should have.

I can’t believe this writer is calling John McCain the con man. The writer of this blog believes Obama when says he will cut taxes when he has NEVER cut a tax in his life. But all of a sudden he is going to start now? That’s like saying if we only would have lifted the sanctions on Saddam when he was ruler of Iraq, he would have all of a sudden stopped torturing and gasing his people and would have become a model world citizen. It’s the conned calling someone a con man.
And the idea that Obama worked an honest day in his life or knows anything about business is ludicrous. He went from an elitist Ivy League school, straight to helping organizations extort businesses to do things like give loans to people who can’t afford them. Then he went straight to Congress in Illinois where he did nothing, then the US Congress where he didn’t do anything but write memoirs. He thinks if you raise the taxes on businesses, the company will just print more money, tap into their hidden pot of gold, or some other illusional source. He doesn’t know that if you raise the tax on businesses, they will either raise the price of their goods or service, or lay people off, or both. If it is bad now, it will get worse. Besides, it is worse because the Obama and his Democrat buddies, along with his Democratic buddies running Freddy Mac and Fannie Mae, and ACORN, made banks give loans to people who couldn’t pay them back. And then they force fuel prices higher by artificially limiting supply of oil which then drives up the price on fuel and every other good and service. And now they wonder why banks are failing and the economy is tanking. But they blame the Republicans for it and most of the people on this blog believe their wild story. But it’s such basic economics when it comes to taxes, what kind is irrelevant. And Obama claims that is supposed to “fix” the economy? The Democrats blew up the financial market and now Obama wants to blow up the rest of the businesses by taking money from businesses and giving it to government beaurecrats or people who aren’t producing anything – virtually nothing but a hole in the ground as opposed to businesses who will reinvest it, instead of just waste it on a $5000 toilet or just spend it. And that is supposed to be a better idea than cutting taxes and let the people and business who are producing something use the money to make more money that can be put back into the economy. But no, Obama can’t figure that out. He can’t figure out that businesses will lay people off or make their prices too high creating a swell of unemployed people who can’t buy anything because they don’t have any money and everyone else won’t be able to afford anything. Result: exploding unemployment and massive inflation. So he is going to go from practicing extortion against businesses through ACORN to practicing extortion through the Federal Government. That is supposed to be a smart solution and a good thing as far as Obama, the writer of this blog, and most of the people on this site are concerned.
