Leviticus 19:9-10

When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very edges of your field, or gather the gleanings of your harvest. You shall not strip your vineyard bare, or gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the alien: I am the Lord your God.

    Make it so.

I read a book called The London Hanged which shows how, at the beginning of the industrial revolution, manufacturing workers had traditionally been allowed perquisites such as taking home off-cuts of wood or cloth, or even unsold finished items, for their own use. But that cut into profit margins, and the new breed of capitalists couldn’t have that, so they made it a hanging offence and they killed people for doing it. I thoroughly recommend the book if you’re feeling strong enough.

Those employers were obviously reading the wrong bits of Leviticus.

And such “Peaople” claim they are reading the Bible Literally? Honesty, it would be a comedy if he results weren’t so tragic.. I love to point out the massive tracts of their own book’s scripture that they are either blightly ignoring, or working hard to explain away as just metaphore, in constast to the miniscule cherry picked amount of “Clobber verses” that these hypocrites use to bash the poor, to bash illegal immagrants, to Bash gay men and lesbianst and bisexuals and transgendered people and oh of course let us not forget the time honored practice of slut shaming.

And my message from the Christian apologists of the people I am referring to, my message is this. If you don’t want us to think that this is what Christianity really stands for then get up off of your buns and put your house in order. there is a difference between judgement and discernment. there is a difference as Fred Says between named calling and calling a thing by it’s name.

You didn’t mention banning gay sex, so you can’t possibly be reading Leviticus.
