Why Ben Carson is NOT a Bigot, Contrary to What You Might Read October 2, 2015

Lincoln Dinner Ben Carson

Ben Carson is taking some political heat for his answer to a question about whether the faith of a person running for President should matter. He made the political mistake of answering honestly — and now is being called a “bigot.”

He simply said that certain faiths are compatible with our Constitution, and others are not. Specifically, the Founders of our country used Judeo-Christian principles as they structured our government, and the religion of Islam is squarely contrary to many of those principles. So Carson said he would not agree with putting a Muslim in charge of the U.S.

(Is any Muslim even running for President? Where did that question come from, unless they were fishing for something to hurt Carson’s campaign? And it turned out only to hurt it from the mainstream media’s point of view. Money talks, and it’s pouring in from American voters.)

He’s being slammed in the media and questioned about his answer. His response to one interviewer reveals the bias in how he’s being treated:

“…read the paragraph before that where I said anybody, doesn’t matter what their religious background, if they accept American values and principles and are willing to subjugate their religious beliefs to our Constitution, I have no problem with them.

“Why do you guys always leave that part out, I wonder?”

This smear campaign is coming for a reason. Dr. Ben Carson is the liberal politicians and media’s worst nightmare.

He has a “rags to riches” story they would love to tout, but he got to where he is through hard work, perseverance and faith in God — not government program handouts. Even worse, he is — gasp! — a black man who articulates conservative principles better than most people.

A political group called The Defenders of Freedom & Security writes:

They are fearful because Carson is a successful man that didn’t need government assistance, rising from a childhood of poverty to becoming a Brain Surgeon. He lashes out against the liberal agenda any chance he gets. He speaks forcefully about the Constitution, gun rights and how our freedom and religious liberty are being taken away by Obama and the left.

When you hear out his whole argument, it makes plain sense. We can’t elect anyone who holds to fundamental beliefs that go against our culture. As he said, “Why in the world would we want to give away our principles for political correctness?” Amen! Ben Carson knows his stuff. Don’t argue with the doctor!
