The Republican Party needs more rising stars in the Senate and there may be no better candidate than Darryl Glenn.

When he introduced himself as a Senate hopeful back in April, this relatively unknown Colorado county commissioner came out strong, saying, “I am an unapologetic Christian, Constitutional Conservative, pro-life, second amendment loving American!”

He called out Planned Parenthood directly and said, “If there is any tax payer money going to support the dismemberment of our babies, I will vote to defund you!”

He called out radical Islam, he supports our military, he wants to repeal the Iran nuclear deal, and wants border security. He spoke about president Obama’s fascination with race, saying, “I’m tired of our president picking sides! It is not about white America, black America or brown America – it is about the United States of America! I have something to say and I hope the news is picking this up – ALL LIVES MATTER!”

Best of all, he desires a smaller government.

“We must change now,” he said. “We are facing a situation where people are bowing down to government instead of bowing down to God! People are slaves to the administration and I am not a a fan of slavery, ladies and gentleman! We need personal and corporate property tax reform right now!”

“We need to clean house,” he added, “reform Obamacare and give the choice back to American workers right now!”

Glenn’s words caught the attention he needed, too. Three months ago when he gave that speech, his campaign had just a little over $11,000. But as support has grown, Glenn has garnered over $110,000 since, helped by endorsements from Sens. Ted Cruz, Ben Sasse, and Mike Lee, as well as Sarah Palin, and the Senate Conservatives Fund.

This Air Force veteran (did I forget to mention that?) has a tough road ahead, however, going up against Democratic incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet. According to National Review, he has a 60% approval rating and nearly $6 million in his campaign coffer.

But with more exposure, Glenn can gain popularity, become a more knowable fixture in politics and “convince donors that, in a year when they must defend a number of incumbent senators, it is worthwhile to spend money on a longshot in a swing state,” as is noted in the NR report.

Spread the word. There’s a new kid in town.
