Did SNL fire writer who tweeted vile insult about Barron Trump? or are they trying to make it look that way? January 23, 2017

UPDATE:

The New York Times reports:

Katie Rich, a writer for “Saturday Night Live,” has been suspended from her position at that show following a widely criticized post she made Friday on her personal Twitter account in which she mocked Barron Trump, the 10-year-old son of President Donald J. Trump.

She was suspended immediately after her tweet, and her suspension is indefinite, according to someone familiar with the plans at “S.N.L.,” who was not authorized by NBC to comment on personnel matters.

ORIGINAL:

When Saturday Night Live writer Katie Rich decided to pick on Barron Trump, she really decided to be nasty. In the since-deleted post, she posted a photo of him with the caption: “will be this country’s first homeschool shooter.”

Of course, Barron is only ten years old and isn’t homeschooled, but Katie still plunged ahead and spoke “truth to power.”

FoxNews reports that NBC isn’t going to comment on the incident:

Katie Rich said Friday in a now-deleted tweet that Barron Trump “will be this country’s first homeschool shooter.”

Rich was immediately faced with a slew of comments criticizing her for taking aim at the 10-year-old. She has since taken down her website and social media pages.

While a rep for “SNL” told us “NBC will not be commenting,” Rich’s name was not listed as a writer for the show’s latest episode which aired one day after Rich’s tweet. She has been a writer for “SNL” since 2013.

Instapundit asks:

Has she been fired or suspended — or merely left off the credits to make it appear she’d been punished somehow?

Very good question.  I guess we can keep checking the credits to see what happens.

The bottom line is that Saturday Night Live can’t help itself — they were punch drunk in love with President Obama — did you SEE that embarrassing “love song” they sang to him?  They think it’s totally fine to be insulting to a President’s kids as long as they aren’t named Malia, Sasha, or Chelsea.

If they didn’t have double standards, they’d have no standards at all.
