There goes the neighborhood: Ivanka Trump in hot water with her D.C. neighbors March 29, 2017

Now that Ivanka Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner, is a senior advisor to President Trump, the family has relocated to Washington, D.C. to the glamours neighborhood of Kalorama, just two miles north of the White House. But being a daughter of the president brings more baggage than just her Louis Vuitton’s.

It’s not that the neighborhood is new to the rich and famous. It’s where Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos lives and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Fox News’s Chris Wallace also lives there, and now, Barack and Michelle Obama are soaking in the luxury. But neighbors are really starting to complain about the issues caused by the security detail that follows Ivanka everywhere she goes.

Now, lining the streets are black SUVs, taking up much-needed parking for other residents and guests. There are also complaints of trash on the sidewalks in front of her house, where Secret Service agents sometimes change their shirts. (Oh, the horror!)

One neighbor close to the Kushner/Trump house said, “It has been a three-ring circus from the day that they’ve moved in… Are you kidding me? This is the adult child of the president. Sometimes there are 10 cars out here.”

Even Chris Wallace added his voice to the complaints, showing up to a meeting addressing the sudden lack of parking, The Blaze reports.

One wonders, though, if this is more Trump hate manifesting itself as a neighborhood spat. After all, Obama lives there as does the secretary of state. Surely residents are used to seeing black SUVs on a daily basis.

The elected neighborhood commissioner, Ellen Goldstein, offered her opinion: “Maybe some of the upset has to do with politics a little. I couldn’t say for sure, but I know that people don’t seem to be upset about Tillerson’s situation. It’s much less intrusive.”

The neighborhood’s president, Christopher Chapin, said, “We are delighted to have political figures like the Obamas, the Kushners and the Tillersons living in our neighborhood.”

Since Ivanka’s family has moved in, four “No Parking” signs were added to the street. To help ease the congestion, Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser had two of them removed, but it remains to be seen if that eases the irritation of the other residents.

In the meantime, the Secret Service has met with city officials to address the issues and find something that works for everyone.

Ah, the lifestyles of the rich and inconvenienced.
