Great and Whinderous

More about the curious case of the blogged, but not blogging English priest, the increasingly famous Fr Whinder.

Yes, that’s him on the left just last Sunday with a priest friend after Mass outside a church in London. He was spotted by Dunadan.

Try to resist the temptation to compare these two reverend gentlemen to Laurel (who was himself a fine Englishman) and Hardy.

Fr Whinder has his second (to my knowledge) post this side of the Atlantic. Will other American bloggers pick up his famous face and increase his renown? Will his status as poster boy of English traditional Catholicism surge worldwide?

Only you fellow bloggers, can make this happen. Join the campaign today. We all know what a dreary state dear old England is in. The traditionalists stand heroically against the present day police-state culture of death in Britain.

Let’s cheer them up with some good old fashioned Yankee yee-ha! support.

You know, you can make a children’s picture book, Where’s Whinder?.Photoshop him into all sorts of vintage Catholic photos.

Great idea. We could also fit him into great Catholic art…

But working for the Police, I’m curious what you mean by that. I’m assuming/hoping you’re referring to the nanny-state attitude of Blair’s government, and not the Police Service itself! ;-)

“Fr Whinder has his second (to my knowledge) post this side of the Atlantic. Will other American bloggers pick up his famous face and increase his renown?”Fumare (Michigan) and Roving Medievalist (Toledo, OH) also have posts on Fr. Whinder.

How kind of you to compare Fr Whinder and myself to Laurel and Hardy – is that how you yanks see the English clergy? – but glad that we’re doing our bit to fight the ‘culture of death’.Congratulations, by the way, on your own Priestly Ordination!

It was an affectionate observation Father. Perhaps Jeeves and Wooster or even Fr. Brown and Flambeau would have been more appropriate? Thanks for your kind words. Perhaps on one of our future visits to the damp lands we can meet!
