March 24 – April 2 2008
We’ll be flying to Paris, stopping at Chartres on the way to Normandy in the Northwestern part of France.
We’ll visit Lisieux, see Les Buissonets, the childhood home of Therese as well as all the other Theresian sites in Lisieux. We’ll be staying near the most beautiful and famous Benedictine Abbeys in France: Bec, Caen, Mont St Michel, Solesmes, Kergonan, Fontgombault and Fleury.
In addition we’ll visit Orleans and see the sites of Joan of Arc, have a motor tour of Paris, visit the Shrine of Catherine Labore in the Rue du Bac in Paris, and we’ll see the famous Bayeux Tapestry and the D-Day Normandy beaches.
The very reasonable cost of $1999.99 includes your flight, hotel accommodation, two meals a day, coach travel and tour guides. Plus, the whole trip is designed as a retreat/pilgrimage–not just another tour to Europe. I will be celebrating Mass each day and leading retreat talks on Benedict and Therese. We’ll have a chance to join the monks for their worship–most of which will be in traditional Gregorian chant.
Having lived in England for 25 years, I have traveled widely in this part of France and know all these places well. It would be wonderful if some people who read this blog could come on this fantastic trip with us.
