Picked up on a news combox: “Will somebody please remind Sarah Palin that Jesus Christ was a community organizer and Pontius Pilate was a governor?”

Nice.

Jesus was far from a “community organizer,” as I think your readers will readily recognize. Goodness. Read the Gospels, people.

    It was a joke…

You know, the real Irenaeus had a pretty good sense of humor!

If you really want to read the opposition to Palin here you go:http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/columnists/andrew_sullivan/article4690545.eceThat's what Palin has to address and overcome in the next few weeks and so far she is hiding from Tom Brokaw while Karl Rove performs some sort of dark initiation ritual.

I found that quote used as a signature line of a ‘Catholic’ on a ‘Christian’ forum. Many, many Catholics are actually comparing Obama to Jesus Christ using that quote. I find that frightening. It may have been uttered as a joke, but I have encountered Catholics who believe that Christ’s role as ‘Community Organizer’ was His most important role – and I’m not joking.

well all I know is that here in the great state of Oklabama, we here will all be voting for Obama, because unlike the rest of the country he never forgot we were the 57th state of the nation.

Jesus didn’t demand to get paid for what he did.

Jesus did not want to be Herod. If you really want to cast Obama into the first century, we need to remember which character is associated with the slaughter of the innocents.

We in Minnesota have been having to put up with the politician-as-Jesus thing for some time now. How long has Wellstone been dead? And we’re still having to put up with those heritical “What Would Wellstone Do?” bumper stickers.

I have seen this over on facebook as flair or bumper stickers to add to your page and other such places. I’m trying to come up with a witty way to say something along the lines of… thinks he’s the messiah- Obama know’s he the Messiah- Jesus or something along the lines of Saved many lives- Jesus… thinks its ago to take many lives- ObamaReally does Obama really need another comparison to being the “chosen one” I know how my not so conservative friends will take that and I’m not in the mood for the classic stereo-typical argument at the moment.

Christ also proclaimed the Kingdom not the protest march

“well all I know is that here in the great state of Oklabama, we here will all be voting for Obama, because unlike the rest of the country he never forgot we were the 57th state of the nation”This is hilarious, because as a fellow Okie, I can’t fathom just how bad Obama is going to get beat here, and additionally, that when Obama and Biden talk about the poor, that they ever had my State, one of the poorer ones in the union, in mind. Maybe that’s because I am currently clutching a rifle in one hand and a rosary in the other. But that is just a guess!
