My Screwtape Letters-type book, The Gargoyle Code began its life here on this blog. As readers will know it is structured as a Lent book. The letters begin on Shrove Tuesday and take you through to Easter Day.
I am therefore having a big push to get as many copies out there as possible. Here’s how you can help:
- If you have a blog, a parish paper, a diocesan paper or any print outlet, and would like a review copy please email me and we will send you one. I just ask that you really do have such an outlet for a review and that you publish the review before the beginning of Lent
- If you have a blog and would like to take an ad, I can provide the artwork. If you could put up an ad for the book it would be a big help.
- Can you get a few lines into your parish bulletin? Cut and paste this and send it in to your parish or diocesan bulletins as an article: It is an ancient tradition taken from the Rule of St Benedict to have a good spiritual book to read during Lent. Fr. Dwight Longenecker has written a book in the tradition of Screwtape Letters which is designed as a Lent book. The Gargoyle Code is entertaining and enlightening. The fictional letters from a senior devil to a junior devil begin on Shrove Tuesday and take the reader on an entertaining and inspiring journey to Easter Day. Gargoyle Code is available from Catholic bookshops and from Fr. Longenecker’s website: www.dwightlongenecker.com
- If you belong to a Bible study group or parish study group or a book club or class, why not suggest that they all read The Gargoyle Code for Lent. Write to me for special group rates.
UPDATE: Here’s a super review of the book by blog reader Karen
