Our 10-year-old granddaughter, born with only one arm and with leg deformities, has made the national news as a champion swimmer at her local Y.M.C.A. I'm SO glad Patrick and Anna were born!

Truly inspiring. ALL life is precious. I am also edified and inspired by the sacrifices Patrick's dad goes through for his son. I am also ashamed in that I feel like I don't do enough for my own kids. I am going to have to work even harder for them.

I love this story. I saw the episode of Extreme Home Makeover with this family and was an absolute mess! Families like this truly bring to light the incomparable gifts that each soul is endowed with at the moment of creation, regardless of the irregularities of their bodies…what a tragedy that so many are not given the chance to live a full life. Thanks for posting this video, Father. May many more be inspired by Patrick and his family!

Last semester, Patrick had a class in the history department where I am a grad student. Seeing them sit together in the lobby before class was so humbling – his father reads his textbook assignments aloud to him and makes sure he is totally equipped for every single class. Even the rapport they shared – as two busy men with a tight schedule – was inspiring. If you were to just listen to the two of them talking, you'd never guess Patrick was any "different" from anyone else.
