Stick ‘Em Up

OK. The day of reckoning has arrived. It’s time for the annual Stick ‘Em Up Campaign.

Just once through the year I ask you faithful readers to hit the ‘Donate’ button and help me with the expenses of running this blog. Think how much you might have been expected in the old days to pay for a subscription to a magazine or newspaper that informs, entertains and inspires. You’d pay a good bit for a monthly or weekly subscription, but this blog is updated daily. (Well, almost…)

Think how many hours I spend thinking up blog posts, moderating comments, finding pictures, getting myself into my various alter egos, blogging when I could be writing articles that pay for magazine and website who are calling me several times a day begging me to write for them and offering me large sums of money. (well, maybe that’s a little bit of an exaggeration)

But the principle is right. Most of us blog for the love of it, and not just the love of blogging, but the love of spreading the gospel. Honestly–you’d be amazed at the emails I get which inspire me to keep blogging. People who have returned to the faith, Evangelicals and Anglicans who have converted and the blog helped them, individuals who are hurting or doubting and gather strength here, others who despair about the Catholic faith and find here some nourishment and good humor. Still others who suffer from insomnia and find my blog posts help them drop off to sleep instantly…

So what can you manage? I’d say a $20.00 donation is not asking much. That works out at about a nickel a day for one year. A nickel a day! That’s nothing. Nadda. Zilch. Zero.  If you can do more, go for it. The Lord loves a cheerful giver (and so does padre).

For this one week and one week only the annual Stick ‘Em Up Campaign will continue. You won’t have any other appeals for funds throughout the year, so this is your only chance.

The ‘Donate’ button is in the right sidebar. Wear it out!

Father…is there a mailing address where we can send a check?

  • Fr Longenecker

Mickey, send me an email: frlongenecker@att.netI'll send a mailing address, but prefer not to publish it here.

  • Anneg

Dumb question, Fr. How do you get the most cash from a donation? thanks, AnneG in NC

  • Fr Longenecker

Anneg – PayPal takes a little from your donation. If you send me a check they don't. If you want my address, drop me an email and I'll return with my address
