The splendid little church of St Mary and St Alphege in Bath, England. Built by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in the Romanesque style, it is modeled on St Mary Cosmedin in Rome. Of particular interest is the floor. Constructed after the style of the famous marble tiled floors of Rome, Scott saved money by using linoleum blocks. The same could be done in a modern day church with the use of marble-like tiles of different colors.
