    That looks very much like the jewel of a Gothic church I used to attend Mass at in Frankfurt, Germany. It stands near the banks of the Main River. I forget the name though. After the Reformation in Germany, Frankfurt remained the city where the Holy Roman Emperor was crowned in the cathedral there. That church, this one in the picture and the Franciscan church remained Catholic, presumably under imperial protection (a guess).
