For Earth Day

That was a great video clip Fr. Longenecker! I love Earth Day! It reminds me that God created the earth for all mankind, which he entrusted to our care for future generations. I saw a few quotes earlier today from Pope Benedict XVI that make me so proud to be Catholic.

“The world is not something indifferent, raw materials to be utilized simply as we see fit. Rather, it is part of God’s good plan, in which all of us are called to be sons and daughters in the one Son of God, Jesus Christ (cf. Eph 1:4-12).”

“Preservation of the environment, promotion of sustainable development and particular attention to climate change are matters of grave concern for the entire human family.”

“The order of creation demands that a priority be given to those human activities that do not cause irreversible damage to nature, but which instead are woven into the social, cultural, and religious fabric of the different communities. In this way, a sober balance is achieved between consumption and sustainability of resources.”

I understand these quotes are taken from a new book published by Our Sunday Visitor called: The Environment by Pope Benedict XVI.

Pray for me, my friends. All I saw was that ice don’t melt and it ok to steal a car as long as you leave a whole dollar for a ‘borrowed’ pie.

they are escaped prisoners set in the south just prior to the tennesee valley authority brought electricity to the area.

i don’t think father put it up to promote petty theft; rather, as lovely as earth is, we look forward to flying away from it someday.
