Go Trey Gowdy

Our congressman from South Carolina has Sebelius on the ropes. Go Trey Gowdy!

    Ha! That was great.

Father, you should keep your political opinions to yourself. I’m sick to death of all the right wing political garbage coming from the church lately. Your blog is becoming more and more offensive everyday. If you don’t like President Obama, don’t vote for him. In the meantime, shut up.

    • Fr. Dwight Longenecker

Thank you for your comment. I especially appreciated your good manners and respectful attitude.

Oh Father, that’s just liberal tolerance and inclusiveness.

    • Denise

So you only respect Constitutional rights when it is your rights up for discussion?

    • Sharon Antonio

This comment is very offensive. If you do not like the way Father thinks, you do not belong on his blog. Father is standing for truth and what is good for the country. Your remark totally lacks charity and it may be time for you to get an education before mouthing off. People like you who are loud, yet terribly ignorant, do a lot of harm to those who are searching for the truth and need people like this very holy priest who is not afraid to stand for Christ.

    Great indeed! Thank you!

That was excellent but I had to pause it until I stopped laughing after she said that she agreed that we should have an educated citizenry.

Excellent documentary evidence, Father Longenecker. Fortunately for HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, the congressman’s time ran out.

  • Ryan

Man, he took her to school.

  • Andy s

So you are for the HHS mandate? What are you really complaining about?
Did you mean to go to the National Catholic Reporter website and accidentally ended up at Patheos?
Don’t reflexively hate orthodoxy. Catholic social teaching is a lot wider ranging and beautiful than just focusing on only the points of it you like.

Send this congressman to the Senate. His mind could run circles around Obama whom we are told attended Harvard Law and was editor of its Law Review.

  • Denise

I get a kick out of this video every time I watch it. She is either a liar, amazingly ignorant, or perhaps both. Separation of church and state? Really? Separation of church and state is nowhere in the Constitution, except for the founding fathers to essentially say the state needs to stay out of the church and her affairs.

    • Fr. Dwight Longenecker

When I watch the video I am amazed at the ignorance of the woman. She stumbles over questions a high school civics student should understand. You’re right–separation of church and state is not part of the constitution–religious freedom is.

P.S. my response is for bearpaw.
