Special Offer for Bloggers

Fellow Bloggers!

I need your help promoting two things right now:

1. My new weekly, e-newsletter called FaithWorks. If you go here you can see the first edition and sign up. But I need more than your sign up. Would you please link to this same blog post and do a post yourself on this new initiative? Talk it up and link to my post with the sample and sign up form.

2. My new book Catholicism Pure and Simple. This is a re-written and updated version of my earlier volume Christianity Pure and Simple. You can learn about the book here.

Here’s the offer: If you write a post about FaithWorks  and are willing to write a review of Catholicism Pure and Simple I will send you a free copy of my book St Benedict and St Therese–the Little Rule and the Little Way. The book will be free, but I’ll ask you to make a donation for p+p.

All you do is send me an email saying you would like to participate. I will then email you a pdf file of Catholicism Pure and Simple. You read it and review it and also write a post promoting FaithWorks.

Once you’ve posted, all you need to do is drop me another email linking to your posts about FaithWork and your review of Catholicism Pure and Simple. I’ll then send you Benedict and Therese free of charge.

    Hi Father,

I couldn’t find your email address but I would love to review your book for my blog. You should be able to see my email address from this comment so please count me in!

    Peace and grace,

    Dan F.

I will take you up on this offer when I receive a copy of FaithWorks in my e-mail box. Until then, I’ve got nothing to go on or write about. But maybe I need to check my spamtrap….

    • Ted Seeber

Nope, just did. Have yet to see your newsletter. Check with your webteam.

      • Ted Seeber

Father answered, back issues aren’t sent out. Sign up for his newsletter anyway!

I love to take you up on your offer, Father, for reasons that i will give in my post about it.

I’m pretty sure i signed up for the newsletter but i never got anything – when i didn’t get anything i put my email address in to re-sign up and it said i was already signed up. Anyway, I’ve followed the links to the online version and i’m going through it with a fine-tootked comb!

P.S. I would be very grateful if you would re-post at some point the comment on the (presumably removed) ‘Authentic Atheist’ post from the atheist who claimed that most atheists have read the bible cover to cover. I was even considering of copying it and posting about it myself, so a little disappointed when i checked this morning and it was no longer there!

    Hi Father,
Enjoyed reading your first newsletter Faith Works. Great initiative. I find myself waxing and waning with my faith so this gave me something to think about. I am more than happy to post a review of your new book Catholicism Pure and Simple.
    regards Susanne

    Hi Dwight.

Twice now I have attempted to disclose my family history of Clerical pedophilia on your blog, and twice now you have kept my posts off of your blog.

What exactly about this behavior would you characterize as christ like I wonder?

What was the quote from Gandhi?

“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ. “

    • Fr. Dwight Longenecker

The comments were too long. This is a combox, not an internet forum, nor is it a general soapbox for whatever anyone wants to say. If comments are long, rambling and off the subject I don’t post them.

    Hi Father Longenecker,

I would like to participate, and would love to review both your newsletter and your book. I sent an email stating I would like to do so, but have not gotten a reply, and I wasn’t sure if maybe that email ended up in spam or something. If you’re still accepting bloggers to participate, please email me the PDF of the book you wish reviewed. I already get the newsletter, so I can review that.
