SSPX Bishop Williamson Excommunicated for…

…writing bad film reviews. Go here for his review of Schindler’s List. You won’t want to miss Dickie’s review of the seriously sick Sound of Music.  For his review of the ‘practically pornographic in every way’ Mary Poppins click here.

and don’t miss how he makes a dog’s dinner of Lassie

now it makes sense- once I wrote a post about good movies for 12 year old girls- and a few posters were upset that I mentioned Sound of Music

  • priest’s wife (@byzcathwife)

The original Sound of Music review is unavailable at the SSPX website- do you have a copy somewhere?

  • David N

Lol. Unfortunately the S-o-M link is broken, but the others are brilliant. We shall miss Dickie’s insights. Of course film has never been the same since the Projectionist called the Hollywood Council and introduced modernist ideas like sound and colour – totally at odds with the millennia of tradition obtained from pictures before

I always enjoy reading the words of those totally ignorant of film history, and the artistically deadened. I’d like to recommend a viewing of von Sternberg’s THE LAST COMMAND or Murnau’s SUNRISE, but of course having neither sound nor color they are not worthy of comment, let alone viewing.

Now this is LOL funny! I completely forgot his Sound of Music criticism. OMGosh! I will never forget people taking it so seriously and arguing for his POV.

    Thanks for the laugh.

NoDuff: I read somewhere a couple of weeks ago that there has been a break-away faction of about half a dozen SSPX priests in the US who have formed the SSPX of the Strict Observance because they think the mainstream SSPX has gone too fluffy.

Who’s on for a bet Williamson ends up leading that little fray?

First of all get the facts straight . Bishop Williamson is not excommunicated just like arch Bishop Lev . They did not strip him of his orders they had no grounds for it . Also you do not need a papel mandate to ordain a bishop if it is out of necessity . Second Bishop Williamson knows how much of a fox Ratzinger is . He pushed for the novus ordo which is complete hypocrisy in its self . Berny dictator Fellay has no authority to excommunicate Williamson . Unless Williamson was abusing his position and teaching against the true laws of the church .He is expelling him from the society not excommunicating .GET IT RIGHT.

  • Tancred

Sorry to interrupt your display of Jewish solidarity, but how can he be “excommunicated” as you say if Bishop Fellay has no jurisdiction?

Usually, Neoconservatives like yourself are quick to point out this fact. Can’t have it both ways.

I guess the government was secretly creating Photoshop in the 40′s to manipulate all those Bergen Belsen photos we have seen. He needs some serious help!!.

What is the point of all this?

Good ol’ Christian ideals represented here.

And you seriously wonder why no one cares what Christians say?! This is exactly the reason Christians are the only acceptable brunt of discrimination in the world today.

    You bring it on yourselves.

    • Melia

It’s not so much Christian ideals as it is Victorian ideals mixed with Christian ideals. After all, ‘The Canterbury Tales’ is full of Christian ideals, but one has to wonder what Mr Williamson might make of some of the stuff in there…

The issue is the media only picks up on what nuts say. We call this a selective media bias.
