You Can Be President Today!

Feeling blue after the election? Did your man lose? Are you one of those who thinks the end of the world is nigh? America will soon be down the pan like Greece? The revolution is about to begin? Take a deep breath. Pay attention to your own life. Soldier on. Most of all, remember that politicians aren’t the answer. You are. What matters most is individual virtue. Individual Virtue for you. Individual Virtue for me. Individual virtue for the POTUS too. Don’t waste time thinking what the country might be like if a different man were elected. Think what the country would be like if you were a different man.

For more detail jump over to my column here called You Can Be President Today. It should cheer you up!

Very well said, Fr.Dwight, the answer and solution to one’s questions, miseries, problems, and concerns should and must always begin with oneself.

Great article, Father! Everyone should read this, no matter what political party, religion or country. Thanks for great advice, once again!

“Put not your trust in princes, in a sone of man, in whom there is no salvation. When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. Blessed is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up the those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the sojourners he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion to all generations Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 146:3-10)

That’s all very well and good, and I certainly appreciate the offering of a different perspective, but it regrettably doesn’t change the fact that the absolutely wrong man was just re-elected to the White House. We Catholics and people of faith are now fighting an increasingly uphill battle for our freedom, abortion for all is now funded by me and you, and the future just got very, very, VERY expensive.

May God have mercy on us all.

      I don’t disagree with you.

I agree about the virtues. Sadly, a majority of Catholics voted to re-elect the wrong man. That statistic would indicate that most Catholics are not pro-life, nor is religious freedom important to them.

Our children will never learn the virtues from our present educational system. We need to abolish it and start all over. If possible, parents should yank their children from public schools. See

When I was much younger and my oldest children were still in school, I believed one had to be a leader to make things happen. I was president of the PTA and on this committee and that committee. Now that my youngest children are now in middle school and high school, I have matured and realized that the loudest voice doesn’t always get the most done. Sometimes it is the quietest voice in the room that accomplishes the most.

Sadly, most professed Catholics are no better than liberal Protestants and Secularists when it comes to not defending human life from conception to natural death and voting for the party that professes to help the little guy–maybe I should say, the party that hands out the most free crap.

I thank God most Evangelicals and Orthodox have become the most consistent pro-life voters. Catholics need to first of all believe and agree with their church on the essentials for the sake of the faithful in the pews. I’m just asking for honesty here. Ignorance is no excuse.

In our case here in the Philippines, it’s the Catholic Church who’s very vocal and expressive in their position against gay marriage and abortion.

Here are some interesting things that we should be discussing regarding Mitt Romney’s Mormonism
