In Which Sarah Huckabee Sanders Teaches a Bible Verse May 3, 2018

This clip from the Daily Caller shows White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders teaching the nation a Bible verse.

The verse is Romans 12:19-21

Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God’s wrath. For it is written: “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” On the contrary, if your enemy is hungry feed him, if he is thirsty give him a drink, for in doing so you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.…

Bible geeks will be interested to know that St Paul is quoting Proverbs 25:21-22

If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For you will heap burning coals on his head.

Sanders was responding to a vile, not funny attack at the White House Correspondents dinner by a comedienne I’d never heard of, Michelle Wolf. You’ll find it here along with comments.

Sarah Sanders has got enormous class in my opinion. She sat through the insults knowing that the cameras must have been on her. She didn’t feign amusement, nor did she stomp off angrily. She took it on the chin and then when asked for a response rises above it all and says she hopes Michelle Wolf finds happiness because she obviously needs some.

Boom.

Sanders is known as a committed Christian and this is the kind of witness Christians should give. She was not a doormat nor a pious martyr. She stuck up for herself by being bigger than the coarse insults and rose above it thus making Michelle Wolf look more like a wolf with its tail between its legs.
