The dumbest thing I have yet read re the NY TIMES trying to unseal the Robert’s kids adoption records comes from this email to Kathryn Jean Lopez at The Corner:
How stupid are you? Wait, don’t answer. Roberts’ adoptions are relevant because he has two adorable, white blond kids. He probably exerted pull to get them, leaping ahead of the tens of thousands of other adults who want kids like that. Moron.
In which case, I guess we ought to investigate the quick and painless adoptions that Rosie O’ Donnell and Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, Calista Flockhart and Michelle Pfieffer managed to put together.
Oh…I guess managed adoptions of “desireable” children are only okay for liberals. Prejudiced fool.
Maybe they got the kids when they were born and the kids had black hair. Mine both did and now my daughter’s has lightened up considerably without help. Man oh man! Anything to try to cause a stink. The kids should be off limits, period, end of story. Maybe we should check and see if Pinch Sulzberger was adopted. I hear he’s not the brightest light on the tree.
Umm, how do we know ANY of these people had quick or painless adoptions? Sounds like an assumption to me. They may have spent the standard time waiting in line…but if you don’t have friends or family who have, or are trying to, adopt, how would you even know how long it takes? The actual PLACEMENT may have happened quickly…but no one has any way of knowing when any couple began the paperwork.
