Panetta, Rendition;, who knew?

Hitchens on Lincoln; always worth reading, even if Newsweek isn’t.

Hey, Juden: don’t fly that flag…

It’s the oldest hate.
But that doesn’t make it the smartest!

Calvinist in Calvin Klein?: Pastor James Dean!

Maureen Dowd: 14 years old

Bono: Taking writing work away from actual writers? Maybe, but he’s a better writer than Dowd, hands down.

Faith in freedom and people: Reminds me of a line spoken by Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday, but are these Iraqi children not beautiful?

41 & 43: It makes no sense at all to me that any president should go without Secret Service protection, but Dubya will be on his own in ten years. I suspect that “new” rule will suddenly be changed again for Obama, and then 43 will be the only one without protection. And I predict he’ll take that in stride.

Bush better than he’s given credit for. Well, of course. Got stuff right. Got lots of stuff right. People forget.

Victor Davis Hanson: calling bullsh*t.

Sometimes an accident is just an accident:
and a mistaken memory is just a mistaken memory

Happy Catholic talking about painful layouts

Georgetown’s African American President. More here

Deacon Greg: He’s back and has gorgeous pictures

I’m still listening to this

You said you liked nun pictures: more. And they sing real good, too!

Oh my goodness…MoDo isn’t even 14…she’s 11 or 12, trying to pretend she’s 13, and hoping the boys will start to notice her sooner rather than later. What a snarky, nasty, ugly column! I’ll have to depend on bloggers like you, dear Anchoress, to let me know if she ever writes a similar column about “the messiah”, (although I’m not holding my breath) because I certainly won’t be checking out the NYTimes to see what she writes.

Come to Momma… “Okay, I’ve voted for ace every day so far, and I can’t undo what I have done, so can you forgive me if I vote for you the rest of the time? Nonetheless, Ace clawed his way……

I wish someone would say a prayer for this fine President.

    I do try…

I keep reading endless comments of the most baseless hatred.

This fine Man was slandered, undermined, demeaned, vilified, etc., for 8 long years, and served so admirably.

His leadership provided an opportunity for Millions to become liberated from horrid oppression.

He inherited the corrupt, unethical, inept folly enabled during the Clinton 90′s, and handled it with dignity and decency.

And so many, even these emotive Conservatives, are just filled with misguided hostility.

Liberal Democrats are so filled with partisan bigotry, they continue to belittle and stereotype in the most alarming manner.

They are dehumanizing “Republicans” and “Conservatives” now, in manners that resemble some of the ugly fascism seen in the 1930′s.

Much of it, youthful fashion gone awry.

When they treat vivid crooks with praise?

    It is stunning.

    Truly sad.

HNAV – Peter Brooks from the Heritage Foundation wrote an excellent piece about President Bush that ran in the NY Post yesterday. If you can’t find it at their website or on the Heritage website, please let me know and I will send it to you. There are many who have prayed for this good man on a daily basis.
