These get better all the time. What is it about Couric and the way she reads news that makes her so perfectly suited to this?

UPDATE:
Last time we checked in, Carolina Cannonball only had a few submissions for her Ugly Church Art Contest. Now, she has scores of them. Take a deep breath and go check it out. There are many foul, ugly works, but I do think that the “Butcher Shop Map Jesus” is the worst.

    Wow there is some ugly church art over there.

    Makes me appreciate my own parish church a lot more. We have an actual Pieta that looks like the original and our stained glass windows are salvaged from our original building (now a historic landmark, built in the 1800′s). I guess we have one piece of modern art but it really isn’t ugly at all.

    This is one of the reasons I think of myself as conservative or traditional. Some of that stuff is so ugly it is distracting and it would be troublesome for me if it were present where I worship.

    I think only a handful of them are truly ugly, but No. 1 “Whaaatt?” Jesus describes my reaction to many of the others.
