Some maintain that you must believe in science, OR you must believe in religion. Sagan himself believed only in science, that the apple pie referred to in the video really was the result of totally random processes.
But science and religion are complements. Humankind must have both in order to understand Truth. Who did Sagan think “invented the universe”?
Why is this so hard for some people to understand?
This is so beautiful! Thank you for linking to it!
Had to say this:
Poor Carl’s atheism and nature-worship aside, I enjoyed that immensely.
Actually that understates it.
It’s probably a commentary on both my personality, and the music I’ve had to listen to for the last decade or so, that THIS, the Sagan/Hawking Auto-Tune, is only bit of music in the last several years that’s had me rocking out in my desk-chair, rhythmically waving my arms forward in the air with head nodding to the beat, eyes closed, and that “oh, yeah, this is COOL…” pursed-lips thing going on.
That thing should be on the radio. In two weeks, it’d be #25 with a bullet.
>>Why is this so hard for some people to understand?<S all free will and that’s the way “IT” will stay until “The Judgement Day”
That’s my story and I’m sticking to “IT”
What happened? Let me try again!

Bill, whether we like “IT” or not, God gave U>S all free will and that’s the way “IT” will stay until “The Judgement Day”
Brings tears to my eyes.
That Sagan and Hawking’s are “atheists” means nothing. Its nothing but a word. To admire the Creator’s work is to admire the Creator… even if we don’t use the same name for it.
