Miss me? Our guest bloggers are going to make you forget all about me! Aren’t they great?
Still processing Rome but will have lots to write and pictures to share. I have remembered all of you intentions to St. Philip Neri, St. Catherine, St. Ignatius and many more! I love it here, but miss my routine!

Wow! What a photo, big or not big! I have been praying for you on your journey, looking forward to hearing about it and seeing photos.
S. Maria Sopra Minerva is absolutely beautiful, isn’t it?
She’s lovely. Can we please keep her that size?
Oh I know, prolly not.
We do miss you but Danielle and Simcha have been doing a great job.
You might go see the church “San Carlino alle Quattro Fontane” by Borromini for an architectural treat. It has an elliptical plan and an elliptical dome & it is very tiny.
Oooohh, I loved Santa Maria sopra Minerva! What a gorgeous church.
You would never know, looking at its rather nondescript exterior, that one of the most spectacular Gothic churches in Rome lies within (not to mention St. Catherine, of course! Except her head, which is famously held in Siena).
To recapture the experience, check out Andrea Bocelli’s “Sacred Arias” DVD, a concert filmed inside the church. I always watch it around Christmas time (to remember Rome).

Then there is always the fun game of trying to identify all the places in Roman Holiday — like the scene at the cafe just on the other side of the Pantheon from Santa Maria Sopra Minerva.
Never too much Catherine, as far as I’m concerned. You might post a pic of the early Michelangelo “Resurrected Christ” statue that’s standing guard at the foot of her casket too…remembering, of course, that her head’s in Siena!
Thank you, Elizabeth!
