This video’s a little New-Agey, but the hymn is a beautiful one for the end of the day. I sing it with my children every night, though not that angelically, and not in a round.

All praise to thee, my God, this night,

For all the blessings of the light.

Keep me, O keep me, King of Kings,

Beneath Thine own almighty wings.

‘Night, all.

  1. Maureen says:

Madeleine L’Engle’s favorite hymn, by the evidence of her books and one interview I saw on TV.

  2. Sally Thomas says:

Yes, I’m really letting my Anglican show here. And now that you mention it, Maureen, I remember that in her non-fiction, autobiographical writing, L’Engle has a priest friend whom she calls “Canon Tallis.” It was years before I got the joke.
