Nun Soaps: New Face and Gift Soaps!

Nun Soaps: New Face and Gift Soaps! June 7, 2011

It has been a while since we’ve taken a look at what our nun pals are up to — and they’ve been very busy; Dominicans traveling and partying; Passionists partying and building.

Who knew the cloisters were so busy? Or so much fun?

So, over in Summit, where the Dominican Nuns have perfected the art of soap and hand creme and lip balm making, they’ve come out with two new soap products:

Our Cleansing Facial Soap has been in “test mode” for several months by our sisters! This soap is made with our Shea Butter glycerin soap. Added are generous amounts of colloidal oatmeal and kaolin clay, vitamin E and Essential Oils of Lavender. Vitamin E provide antioxidants. Essential Oil of Lavender is known to help heal the skin especially acne and inflammation.

That sounds really good, and I’m going to order a bar and check it out, because I’m over fifty and still breaking out. When does the oily skin stop? I swear, you could drill in my forehead and chin and solve the oil crisis!

And the Gift Soaps, which seem like a nice hostess gift for summer barbecues!

Our Bouquet Gift Box was created because a certain sister ordered the wrong size gift boxes during the Christmas rush! That only provided the Soap Sisters with an opportunity to try out some new ideas!

These gift boxes are perfect as hostess gifts, birthdays, thank-you’s or “just because”. Each box has 6-1 and a half ounce swirl soaps individually packaged in a variety of scents. The clear, oval box is finished off with a hand tied yellow bow!

As long as we’re talking nuns, in other news:

If you have 2.5 hours to kill: The Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration in Arizona have dedicated their new chapel, which they managed to build pretty quickly, all things considered. Lovely video, but I confess, I skipped through most of it.
