Palin Press: Putzes in Print

Love Sarah Palin or not, one has to admit the press is so undone by her that they are both aggressive and passive-aggressive in their hate, and they betray themselves continually in all sorts of ways. They betray their snobbism; they betray their spitefulness, and most emphatically, they betray the fact that our "fourth estate" is populated mostly by perpetual adolescents. Our press, with a few exceptions, is largely made up of people who, at age 14, decided they were sophisticates who knew … [Read more...]

"Un-American" to oppose KSM trial in NYC

During the Bush administration, we heard the frequent straw-man charges, from the Democrats and the left, that they were being called "un-American" for opposing various policies. Hillary Clinton famously bellowed about it, but if the accusation of being "un-American" had been made with anything like the frequency the Dems pretended, it's nebulous in my memory. Since January of '09, the Democrats have unleashed the "un-American" charge with some real frequency. Jon Stewart, who should know … [Read more...]

The Rich are Different from you and me…

So, let me get this straight. According to Victor Davis Hanson (who would know) there's some folk out there not making their full disclosures in a timely manner: [Peter Galbraith] . . . The son of share-the-wealth John K. Galbraith, Galbraith Minor barnstormed the air waves in the dark days of Iraq, in solemn tones predicting the end of Iraq, why Iraq must be trisected (e.g., giving the Kurds an independent country), and in general (in two books) predicting the end of constitutional Iraq. He … [Read more...]

"I feel like Brandon deWilde…"

Had a problem with a router and we were without internets for most of the day, but we're back up and speedy, now. Predictably, my email was all backed up, and I tried to get through it quickly, but one note made me pause, from reader Mark S., who wrote: Between Obama not bothering to show up in Germany last week . . . and neglecting to name Reagan or Thatcher (I never thought he'd mention John Paul), and then his "shout out" after the Ft. Hood shootings, and now his DOJ preparing a show trial … [Read more...]

Obama, KSM Open Thread

Okay, you guys all seem to want to talk about it, and I am really tied up elsewhere, so I'll do something I don't think I've ever done and leave an open thread - you can yell and shout about this all you want, but I ask you simply keep to the basic comment guidelines. A few links about this, if you haven't seen them: James Taranto: Obama's Show Trials The Boyz at HillBuzz who made an extraordinary apology to President Bush the other day, are rip-roaring mad about this, and are shouting … [Read more...]

Bang, Zoom! And other questions

Mark Shea, utterly disgusted with the press, and offended by the rank "truthiness" by which they and the government prefer to run, unleashes the dogs of hell: One thing you can give our media Chattering Classes: They are utterly consistent. After Major Nidal Malik Hasan opened fire on a roomful of defenseless people in Fort Hood, it was absolutely assured that we would immediately be told that this outrage had nothing to do with his Islamic faith and that it was not an act of terror. Then, as … [Read more...]

Great men you don't know – UPDATED

This past weekend, my family and I attended a dinner honoring a firefighter and former scoutmaster who has spent his entire life serving his community. A little bio background: For 40 years, FDNY Firefighter Richard Gimbl served as a volunteer fireman in every community in which he has lived he is currently serving his second term as Fire Chief in his Long Island community. In 2007 he was named Firefighter of the year from his county, Southern New York, New York State and the International … [Read more...]

It is such a serious crisis…UPDATED

...that once again (as with the daisychain ad, and the "can I have a glass of water" ad) the left turns to exploiting children again. Let the children tell us how the earth is going to die, unless America gives her sovereignty away, laying it down on the altar of global warming climate change, and all the high priests of that sacrificial religion. "We need YOU, President Obama, to go to Copenhagen!" As if Copenhagen is not already a done deal in Obama's brain. It's painful to watch. It's … [Read more...]

Protesting Pelosi in San Francisco

Bookworm says a healthcare protest is being planned - an oldfashioned "sick-in": ...important for us to dig within ourselves and find the energy to holler out “NO!” to a bill that will bankrupt our economy, insert the government in every area of our lives, destroy our medical system, criminalize us for not purchasing a product and, for those pro-Lifers amongst you, inevitably mean that you bankroll abortions. As for me, I love the idea of the first resounding NO taking place on Nancy … [Read more...]

The 'Shut up' President Blames & Aims -UPDATED

On Drudge right now, the question Who To Blame for the massacre at Fort Hood? It was just so much easier when everything could automatically be blamed on Bush, wasn't it? Though I don't doubt we'll see Obamites and Media Minions try to blame Bush for Major Malik Hasan, in any way they possibly can. The guy to blame, of course, is the non-talking Major Malik Hasan, who should not be coddled. This White House has had a field day blaming Bush for everything they couldn't blame on the GOP, or … [Read more...]
