2 Messages to the Military on Vets Day

These are both from the archives, but today seemed appropriate to revive them. The first recounts the day Buster, visiting Washington, DC and wearing his scout uniform, recieved a salute meant for our troops. An excerpt...You see, last year, Buster visited Washington D.C. with his Boy Scout Troop. Buster is a big kid - over 6 feet tall, and built like a giant Scots warrior - and his scout uniform has a fair amount of decoration on it.As he was leaving the Lincoln Memorial, he was stopped by … [Read more...]

Buster, Rush, a psychopathic press & the Crucible of W

My son Buster was not in school today, of course, due to Veteran's Day. He spent the better part of the morning and afternoon working on an Eagle Scout project for one of the fellows in his troop, and while they were working, they kept a radio on. One of the scoutmasters in attendance wanted to hear the president's speech, and so they tuned into Limbaugh's program."The speech was really good," Buster said, "but when it was over, instead of switching back to music, we stayed tuned to Rush, … [Read more...]

Iraqi thanks not covered on Vet’s Day

Nowhere in the press today can you find anything about Iraqi Kurds THANKING AMERICA. No where. Not on Drudge. Not in the newspapers. Not on the news shows.Think for a minute. If Bill Clinton - or Hillary - or anyone with a D after their name were in the White House, and formerly oppressed people were thanking America for their freedom, do you think for a second it wouldn't be a top story? It deserves to be. And please don't tell me that "ads" are not stories. One of the left's favorite … [Read more...]

French Intifada Over?

Couldn't sleep last night and wanted to know what was up in France. I assumed that after 13 nights of violence, the whole situation did not completely "go away..."And I noticed that I couldn't find much to read on it. Nothing at all in the US Press. How funny. We read about Katrina for weeks after the storm, including all those pieces by the press in which they wrote about what a great job they did, covering that storm. We even read a few - but only a few -pieces about everything they got … [Read more...]

Iraq: 1.7 Metric Tons of Radioactive Material?

Gosh, I read news all the time, and I never saw this story. The US has revealed that it removed more than 1.7 metric tons of radioactive material from Iraq in a secret operation last month."This operation was a major achievement," said US Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham in a statement. He said it would keep "potentially dangerous nuclear materials out of the hands of terrorists".Along with 1.77 tons of enriched uranium, about 1,000 "highly radioactive sources" were also removed. The … [Read more...]

Has the NY Times addressed this yet?

Just asking.I mean, I have seen lots of bloggers, beginning with Michelle (who has a nice exchange of letters between the craven Times and a soldier) writing about how the NY Times Dowdified the letters of a dead soldier, essentially changing the whole thesis of the letter, in order to serve their own agenda.I was just wondering if anyone knew whether the Times had actually addressed any of this publicly? Do you think they will?I mean, I haven't seen the MSM yet address the Lies of … [Read more...]

Operation Enduring Service

I like this idea a lot, and Confederate Yankee seems to be the only one writing about it:A record breaking hurricane season has opened our eyes and brought to the forefront our need for improvement in response time to areas damaged by these massive storms. The first hours after a hurricane has made landfall are the most crucial. Without immediate relief those who've survived the massive winds and driving rains may very well succumb to rising waters, heat, water born illnesses and as well as … [Read more...]

Fake, fake, fake

I wonder if we'll see his fakeness on page one, above the fold now that it is clear he is a fake.Ron Harris asks, Why did the press swallow Massey's stories?.Editors at some papers look back at the Massey articles and are surprised that they ran them without examining whether the claims were true or without ever asking the Marine Corps about them."I'm looking at the story and going, 'Why, why would we have run this without getting another side of the story?'" said Lois Wilson, managing … [Read more...]

U.S. Forces Kill #2 Terrorist in Iraq

Pentagon says a top Zarqawi Aide is dead, thanks to US Special Forces. You know, Special Forces, like Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon.Azzam is the latest in a series of top Zarqawi deputies that have been killed or captured by coalition forces in recent months. Zarqawi's Al Qaeda in Iraq (search) group has taken responsibility for some of the country's most horrific acts of terror including car bombings, kidnappings and beheadings of Iraqi civilians and westerners.Earlier this month Zarqawi, … [Read more...]
