Reclaiming the Heart of Our Humanity through the Divine Feminine

Reclaiming the Heart of Our Humanity through the Divine Feminine May 28, 2015

Ann_SmithWhen I commune with nature in my backyard, a wild Everglade preservation, I come into a meditative state where heart and mind are one. I feel deep peace and reverence for all life, a sense of Oneness with Mother Earth and the cosmos. This state of bliss quiets my brain chatter and I become I am who I am, no better or lesser and in sync with creation. I would love to stay in this state while co-existing in the modern world, but self-doubts and self-consciousness interfere.

It is in meditation, prayer, music, dance poetry, art, chanting, walking the labyrinth, being in a sacred circle, journaling, love relationships, and playing tennis in the zone that I am fully myself. I am out of sorts with myself and life when my ego rules with “shoulds”, “coulds” and judgments, ranking one greater or lesser than another.

Scientist have proven what mystics, shamans, spiritual teacher have known since ancient times, that Mother Earth’s resonant frequencies approximate those of the human brain, heart and autonomic nervous system. Most of humanity is known to have a vast distance between heads and hearts that keep us separate and feeling powerless in making a difference. Heart Math is a tool to gage progress in bringing them into resonance.

Melting the Ice in the Heart of Man is a teaching from the Eskimo-Kallallit people of Greenland, a peaceful culture thousands of years old that has never known war. Angaangaq Angakkorsuaq, shaman and spokesperson leads retreats based on ancient ceremonies and teachings. Not until we melt the hearts of humankind will we stop the melting of the icebergs is Uncle’s message that pierces my heart and inspires me to action in becoming the change needed.

For too long indigenous people were marginalized and murdered, their wisdom hidden and their lives not honored or protected. For too long women, half of humanity, were marginalized, dominated, raped, murdered and not listened to nor allowed to govern.

052109_Gaia_010FI believe that it is imperative we bring into balance the Divine Feminine with the Masculine. We are the only species that is out of sync with Earth’s resonant frequencies and out of balance between the masculine and feminine. For thousands of years Divine Masculine (Father) has been worshiped and Divine Feminine (Mother) hidden, denied and vilified by the majority of religious practices. Women’s sacred circles are bringing Her back into balance. We are claiming Her as us just as we are connecting to nature as part of nature. When we go inside we are able to hear her calling us:

I am you and you are me. I am closer than your own breath, I am the breath. I dwell for all times and in all things. I have always been here and will always remain. I am the Divine Feminine, She who Is. I am called many names: Great Mother, Gaia, Pachamama, Sophia, Wisdom, Goddess, God, Mother Earth. I am Mother in Father God, the yin in the yang. I am you and you are me. I am your voice and you are my voice to tell others. I am in your eyes and your words and actions.

I do not care what you call me, just call and feel my presence. I am in all matter and all matter matters.

Listening to and living these words radically changed my life and the lives of hundreds of thousands of women. We are bringing Her into our being through spiritual practices such as prayer, meditation, chanting, drumming, singing, dancing, art, deep listening, ritual and ceremony in circle.

Hierarchical structures where the ranking of diversity and power-over others has dominated for too long, is being replaced by circles of grace. Domination is replaced by cooperation, collaboration, compassion, love and co-creation. Feminine power is honored and brought into balance with masculine. Both are respected.

Helping to bring about women’s full participation on all levels of society , my calling, will unleash the greatest human potential ever known. Indigenous and women’s spirituality circles have the gift of a spiritual setting that brings a deep reverence for all creation. Sacred circles bring us together in a place of love where we are equally valued and equally share the power. We learn to honor and appreciate our diversity and experience Oneness. This is where healing and empowerment happens.

Going to the Parliament of the Worlds Religions this fall in Salt Lake City, I bring the gift of Circle, stories of Divine Feminine and myself in my heart place. I look forward to learning and being my nature-self through sacred listening. I am heart-full this gathering will ignite and strengthen the global spiritual movement; reclaiming the heart of our humanity and bringing balance between Divine Feminine and Masculine.

Namaste!!!
