When Trump accepted his party’s nomination for President – [Sorry, I just throw-up a little] – he said, “As your President, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of the hatful foreign ideology.” To that I say, why the red herring

I’m happy he understands that our LGBTQ family does feel oppressed, and is struggling with real violence on a daily basis… but, most of that oppression and violence is not coming from foreign sources. Most of that violence and oppression comes from ‘home sources.’ So, what about protecting LGBTQ community from the violence and oppression of domestic ideology? Say, like the RNC platform?

What I found even strange, is when he added, “Anyone who endorses violence, hatred, or oppression is not welcomed in our country, and never, ever, will be.” Why did I find this funny? Because, if this is true, we would lose almost every single Republican, Conservative, in Congress [and State Legislators, and local elected officials]. Using violence, hatred, and oppression of the LGBTQ community as an excuse to empress your xenophobic views concerning Islam is hurtful to all LGBTQ people, and all people.

Words, like the ones Trump expressed, center on the oppression and violence of one group or people, while claiming [falsely] to care about the violence and oppression of another group; while never truly caring about either group. You see, words without actions are useless, and are simply part of a political stump speech. Saying you find hatred, violence, and oppression against our LGBTQ family, while standing with a party that have added such oppression, hatred, and violence into their platform, is self-serving. To give the impression you care, while not truly caring, simply shows you, and your party, speak empty words.
