Sharing Your Voice

One of the greatest joys I bestowed on me as an Author, is when I receive messages, emails, or texts from people who thank me for putting into words what they’ve been feeling, and have been unable to voice. I also love when people tell me that my writings have inspired them to write, to voice their views; to share their hearts. As an author, there can be no greater joy. But deeper than that, as a human there can be no greater celebration then haring the voices of others. So, when others tell me I inspired them to share their voice, I’m moved. Because we need to hear other voices. We need to hear points of view that differ from ours, but help us focus on what we believe we are called to become.

We all have voice, we all can say things that change the hearts of others. We should listen for those voices, share those voices, because silence guarantees that nothing will change. Our ability to stand against injustice, and discrimination, is found in our voice, and actions. We must stand firm, speak firmly, and share our views, so others can be treated with grace, kindness, equality, and justice. If we simply allow others to speak ill about others, we will change nothing. Speaking out against injustice, and discrimination, isn’t a guarantee that your voice will change anything. But not speaking out against injustice, and discrimination, is a guarantee that your silence will change nothing.

Your voice matters, let no one tell you it does not; let no one shut you down. When you seek to change the world, others will strive to hold you down, and say your voice is of no value. If you allow them to silence you, they have won. Your voice may not change a million people, but it just needs to change one.
