How Is Trump’s Inauguration “Historic”? January 20, 2017

I keep hearing people say that with the Inauguration of Trump, we’re making history.” I’m not sure I buy that line; well, to be honest I DON’T buy that line. Why? Because I don’t think it means what they think it means. You see, when I hear people say we’re making history, I have to ask, ‘Really? How? Are you saying we’ve never elected a rich, old, white, conservative male to the office of President before?’ Or, are you saying, ‘We’ve never elected a rich, old, white, conservative male who is openly homophobic, xenophobic, misogynistic, and openly racist before?’

There is nothing historic about the election of Trump, nothing. Well, there might be if you look …. Nope. Sorry, there’s nothing historical about electing Trump to be President. So, my questions to those who think this is a historical event are:

How is this a historical event?
When you say, ‘historic‘ what do you mean?

Now, just so we are on the same page, saying that Trump is an “outsider” to politics, guess again – he’s not. There is nothing in his past, or present, to show any evidence of him being an outsider.

So, how? How is this historical?
