  • I was really tracking with this as a critique of nationalism, but … 1) it is still in the end framed by what Scot McKnight calls the soterian ‘gospel’, 2) too much individualist salvation culture here and not enough gospel culture/kingdom (in fact, there is no mention of kingdom at all).

    There is no clear connection with how believing in Jesus death and resurrection actually set a person free.  If we want people to believe in the saving, freeing power of Jesus we have to explain how it works.  Too many people believe and are still in chains.
