So why are they using hydraulic cranes, power tools, etc? And I’ll bet they didn’t stick to using just an old man and his three sons to build this replica. Anyone who thinks this is real history . . . I’ve got a bridge to sell you . . .

They may have used them to make the set, as people often do when they make movies. I assure you, in the movie there are no power tools or hydraulic cranes.

Of course not in the movie, that would be absurd. I never said that. But building the replica is a different matter. And the truth stands, that to construct in ark with the tools, materials and personnel at hand with what was available 4,000 years ago, and to have it stay in one piece while floating for 10 months (or 7 months – Genesis 8:4-5 gives contradictory times – and just one of many contradictions in the Genesis account), has no basis in reality.

          It’s not a replica. It’s a set.

          There’s a difference.

I think in your video the director actually stated that their aim was to replicate the Biblical dimensions and construction as close as they could. That makes it a replica, as well as the set of the movie. They’re not mutually exclusive.
