Oh man – what an end to 2011?
After skateboarding on and off for more than thirty years, Michael was doing some night street skating fractured his hip and broke the head off of his femur. After emergency surgery this morning, he’s doing better but not sure when he’s going home.
Michael, in case you didn’t know, is the JREF’s Director of Educational Programs and the most wonderful director of a group of us who contribute to the fabulous resources that are slowly building up on the JREF site for all ages. He’s a lovely, lovely person who hung out with a bunch of us at Dragon*con and has been interviewed by both Skepticality and my podcast. His Twitter is at @MichaelBlanford, if you want to send him a get-well and ‘Here’s hoping 2012 improves for you!’ message.
As for the rest of 2011? I’m on two podcasts – as an interviewee and a panelist!
Inkredulous Podcast – Episode 11 of our satirical comedy podcast. With questions on skeptical topics, and our guests answering them. Your host is Andy Wilson (@InKredulosi) of the Merseyside Skeptics Society. Appearing in this episode are: Kylie Sturgess of the Token Skeptic podcast ; Geoff Whelan of Greater Manchester Skeptics and co-organiser of QED; Dr*T of the Thinking Is Dangerous blog and many podcasts including Righteous Indignation.
From my time in New Zealand! The CUSP Podcast - In which we celebrate some victories, and find some new things to be mad about. Some trubees miss the point and fail to answer questions, and we interview Kylie Sturgess.
Finally – today I’m planning on getting out the last three episodes of my podcast – and since I generally go on USA time, that means I’ve got about thirty-six hours to pull the last bits together and post them. And I’ll be having a party during some point as well, so expect things to get more and more haphazard as they progress. I’m not saying there’ll be champagne, but feel free to pop a cork to celebrate the milestone of a hundred episodes of the Token Skeptic!
They should be:
Episode Ninety-Eight – On Shakespearian Conspiracies and the film Anonymous.
Bob Blaskiewicz received his Ph.D in English from Saint Louis University. He is a Brittain Postdoctoral Fellow in the Writing and Communication Program at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, where he teaches writing and communication classes that take extraordinary claims as their subject. He is currently the Chair of the Steering Committee for the Atlanta chapter of the Independent Investigations Group (IIG-Atlanta), a research group and public resource for information about the paranormal and extraordinary.
Eve Siebert has a Ph.D. in English literature from Saint Louis University. Her primary concentration is in Old and Middle English literature, with secondary concentrations in Old Norse and Shakespeare. You can find more of their work at the awesome site Skeptical Humanities!
Episode Ninety-Nine – Token Skeptic Live: Dr Steve Novella, Barbara Drescher and Derek Colanduno.
Mostly about gaming. Generally very silly. Interrupted by a fire-alarm before I get to ask any more questions, because that’s just how I roll. Please note: at certain points the audience were tortured by being fed Australian food and I physically attack Derek for not turning his phone off during the show.
Dr Steve Novella apparently has a site and some kind of semblance of a podcast, but I guess you know that. Barbara Drescher is the bomb. Derek really should learn not to have an operating phone anywhere near me.
Episode One Hundred: On Episode One Hundred.
You’ll just have to download it to know it.
