Ash Pryce is a performing artist based in Edinburgh. He has travelled around the country performing shows focusing on revealing and exposing psychic trickery. He’s also an award winning director, published playwright and founder of Scotlands first Skeptics in the Pub group.
In about twenty days, he’s hoping to fund three different shows called The Beginners’ Guide To Psychic Trickery – which looks at the cons of psychic tricksters over the fringe in August, for the Edinburgh Festival.
There’s a number of donation levels, including thanks in the program and even videos of the show if you can’t make it to the Festival itself! Check out the following video for one classic example of trickery and see what help you can give to get the Beginners’ Guide to Psychic Trickery featured at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Part 1: How to be a Psychic Conman – A fully interactive demonstration of various tricks that psychics have used over the years. From the Fox Sisters through to Uri Geller, psychics have been claiming to be able to do things beyond our understanding. A fun, entertaining and magic filled evening that also takes a look at the history of psychic trickery and how it has become such a popular phenomenon. Warning to those on the front row – there will be blood!
Part 3: How to Talk to the Dead – What tricks and deceits did the Fox Sisters employ and what of the Ouija Board or Spirit Slates? What about levitating objects and people? Mumler’s Spirit Photography? Ectoplasm? What of the last woman imprisoned for Witchcraft- if indeed she was? Showing people how not to get conned. With magic!
