Australian Christmas Carols (To Annoy Absolutely Everyone Everywhere This Season)

Guaranteed to annoy everyone… particularly after you’ve heard them about fifteen times each, while in numerous shopping outlets and waiting bays and doctors’ offices and on the radio and playing in the background while you’re waiting on hold.

I’m certain no jury will convict me for beating an animatronic elf to circuit-fizzing death with a large plastic pine tree for daring to chirp the lyrics of The Wiggles Christmas at me non-stop as I stood in line for over an hour waiting for one sodding present to be paid for. It’s not all “White Wine In The Sun” here, you know.

NB: May have some novelty value outside of Australia, where you can play them to befuddled friends as they help you shovel the snow off your driveway. Drovers? Alora? Wiggling? Boomers? Thongs?!

…Things might have been marginally more interesting if this was playing in the shopping centre:

I loved Rolf Harris on TV here in Canada.

He’s a nice guy from all the accounts I’ve heard. Local guy too, to me. The former teachers’ college has a plaque dedicated to him, as he graduated from there.

This is still the best Australian Christmas song/video, white wine in the sun
The animation is awesome. Fits the lyrics perfectly.

Yeah, I blogged it in 2011. Was the first on FTB to do so. The lake that features in the pan out at the end is next to where I used to live.
