Around the Horn

First Base: Congratulations, Scot and Lukas, on the Cubbies’ 10,000th win.

Second Base: Good post from Calvin philosophy prof, Jamie Smith, on Stout (whom I like a lot).

Third Base: Another good post from another Calvin philosophy prof, Kevin Corcoran, on emerging vs. emergent.  (If you don’t subscribe to Kevin’s blog, you should.)

Home Plate: Norman Jeune has begun a multi-part post on Peter Rollins’s new book, The Fidelity of Betrayal, to which Pete will be responding directly.

Thanks for the link Tony! By the way, for anyone interested, Rollins just responded to my latest post, which was published today, April 24th, and he will be posting again as I near the end of the book. Check it out!

If the Cubs win 10,100 this year, I’ll treat your whole family to Chicago pizza and a six-pack of your favorite beer.

Thanks for the plug, Tony! Chapter 4 of TNC:DFTEF is coming up soon. And, hey, LOVED the Trucker Jack webisode. Keep it up.

Scot:

When you say you’ll treat Tony’s whole family to Chi-town pizza and brew, you mean the whole emergent family, right, brother? And, um, we know cubby fans suffer delusions of grandeur…but, hey, do you think you could scale back your enthusiasm? How about if the Cubs and Whitesox together win (say) 100 hundred games this year you’ll treat us to chi-town pizza and beer?
