Richard Mouw to Retire from Fuller Seminary

I can’t find it on the Fuller website yet, but here’s the announcement that was emailed to alumni last evening:

I have the highest respect for Rich Mouw, and a deep love for Fuller. This will be a tricky search process, however, since Fuller occupies a precarious spot on the Protestant landscape: centrist evangelical. It’s a bit like being a political independent these days — you’re a person without a party.

    Tony,

I too received the message and will be watching closely the process going forward. David Hubbard was President during my stint at Fuller (9 years covering 2 degrees). Rich pulled back somewhat from the trajectory that David Hubbard had set. Having attended Rich’s installation as President, it’s hard to believe it was 20 years ago.

May the future of Fuller be blessed and may it continue to be a bridge between evangelical and non-evangelical worlds.

Zack Lind recently predicted that after Shane Hipps leaves MH, it will take a turn to the right — I wonder if Rich Mouw is interested in the job?

Sure, he’s retiring but he plans to have a very extended last “year”.
