Ladies and Gentlemen, We Have a Subtitle

Ladies and Gentlemen, We Have a Subtitle December 1, 2014

I am in the final throes of edits on my next book — what promises to be my most important book. I’ve made no secret of the title, Did God Kill Jesus? And now, after much thought and several rounds of back-and-forth with the publisher, I can reveal the subtitle:

Searching for Love in History’s Most Famous Execution

Sorry for all the drama. The book has pretty much been dominating my life for months. Now we’re in a mad rush to get it out by the official release date, March 17. You can pre-order it now (even though it has an old subtitle and no cover). The cover image is coming soon. (If you think this post is overly dramatic, just wait for that one!)

This week, we will finish the edits. Then the manuscript will go in two directions: in the publishing house, it will go to copy edits and typesetting, and out in the world it will be sent to potential endorsers. (Oprah and Stephen Colbert, if you’re reading this and want to endorse, let me know.) I’ve also been meeting with marketing and publicity personnel at HarperOne to plan the rollout.

Being that it’s Cyber Monday and all, here’s a link to all my books, should you feel the need to read something before March 17.

Honestly, I hope you’ll pardon my enthusiasm. I truly appreciate that you read my work, both here and in print. I look forward to many intriguing — even heated — conversations in the coming months about the meaning of Jesus’ death.
