The comments on posts and the conversations they spark are excellent, but sometimes it’s preferable to clarify a point, provide an example, or debate a fellow commenter at greater length than combox culture permits. At times like that, you should feel free to ask me about expanding on your thoughts in a guest post. You can talk to me about posting either in the comments thread where you’ve been talking or by email at leah(DOT)libresco(AT)gmail(DOT)com.
There are a few questions still going begging for guest posts, so feel free to look through the list below and see if you have something to add on the following topics:
Put Your Money Where Your Marriage Is — If your think gay marriages threatens opposite sex marriage or society in general, tell us what data you expect to see now that gay marriage is legal in a number of states.
Take the Ideological Turing Test – If a Christian tries to give the best case for atheism as an atheist would, I’ll do my best imitation of a Christian apologetic. The goal is to ape the other side so well, outside observers couldn’t tell you were faking. Let’s see whether our ideas of the other side’s arguments map onto reality, or if we’ve been attacking straw men. (Inspired by Bryan Caplan)
Questions Atheists ask Christians — Prompted by a post at Friendly Atheist, commenters here put forward the questions they’d most like to ask Christians. Feel free to take a crack at anything mentioned in the comments thread.
How Do You Read the Bible? — Many of the atheists here (including me!) are still at a loss as to how Christians of any stripe approach and evaluate the Bible. No need to give an exhaustive exegesis, a personal example of how you explored a particular verse or teaching would go a long way toward giving us an explanation.
