“Deaths in the Bible. God: 2,270,365 not including the victims of Noah’s flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, or the many plagues, famines, fiery serpents, etc. because no specific numbers were given. Satan: 10.” (Anonymous)

This is because God needs to scare believers into keeping on the straight and narrow, whereas “Satan’s” way is simply more fun, more reasonable, and easier.
and i don’t mean goat-slaying, gothic lifestyles when i say satan’s way, i simply mean living this life on earth, which is guaranteed to us, instead of an afterlife which is promised to us by someone we cannot even prove exists.
Here’s one source: http://dwindlinginunbelief.blogspot.com/2006/08/how-many-has-god-killed.html

A quick websearch turned up this: http://www.gospeakit.com/science/bible-body-count.html
An apologist could of course claim that Satan leads loads of people astray and then God of course ‘has’ to kill them.
Total bunk of course. The problem hinges on the important difference between ‘possibility’ and ‘probability’. A devout believer only has to come up with one ‘explanation’ that could conceivably explain something and he’s done. Whether his reasoning is at all probable doesn’t matter.
Real world reasoning doesn’t work like that but that is not the fundy’s problem.
I really don’t think this is accurate and would like to see how it was done. If it was killings in the name of god in the bible then it might be true (it might be true with exactly what it says, but I’d like to be shown).
Using my own reading on the bible and RationalWiki God kills roughly 350,000 plus the unspecified. That’s nothing good but it’s not what is said.
Satan only kills with the whole Job thing that is at least partially God’s fault anyway, so that might be just ten.
I’m curious as to when the millions come in.
@Andrew: See Marrten’s link above for some data. That doesn’t include Noah’s flood or Sodom and Gomorrah, so my guess is it would be much higher if you include those!
