Voddie Baucham says that according to the Bible “one of the signs that a culture is under judgment is that women are in leadership in their nations.”
Voddie is a nice guy. I’ve heard him speak a number of times in person. And yet, he is against Sarah Palin, not because of her views, but because the Bible teaches that women are to be the keepers of their homes, submissive to their husbands and out of leadership positions.
What’s ironic here is that Voddie, an African American preacher, is using the Bible to keep women out of leadership and keep them in bondage to their husbands and society. But white people used the Bible to keep black people in slavery. After all, the Bible does say that slaves should obey their masters. It never says slavery is wrong or that masters should free their slaves, though it does allow the selling of children into slavery for life (Lev 25:45-48).
Should we really look to that book as the compass of morality?
Imagine the outcry if a white preacher were on CNN, insisting that black slaves must “obey their masters with fear and trembling, as they would Jesus Christ” (Eph 6:5)? That they must not think poorly of their owners but rather “worthy of all honor” (1 Tim 6:1)? That they must not run away, but be “submissive to their masters in everything” (Tit 2:9)?
And yet this is exactly what happened, except it was a black preacher insisting that women stay at home, obey their husbands and stay out of leadership positions.
Well she’s surely a sign of the £µ©λing End Times.
I mean, in what other nation and what other century could a ticket led by a well-past-his-sell-by-date flip-flopping former war hero and co-piloted by a theonomic end-times gun-crazy anti-woman whack job be tied with Obama/Biden for the FSM’s sake?
What kind of Flavr-Ade are they serving down there that Palin looked like a reasonable, responsible choice?
Utterly gabberflasted. Can only think the Republican Party requires an enema. Or possibly electroshock therapy.
It’s possible that the only reason not to support Obama now is if you’re afraid he’s only in it for the pretty white women.
Speaking as someone who lives in a country governed by a woman for the last nine years… he’s going to have to prove we’re under judgment.
Maybe not a sign of judgment, but she sure as hell is judgmental! ;) :P
Sorry, I can’t resist being snarky at the expense of these theitard types.
Haha as always i love your post, more truth here than 90% of the web.
thanks for speaking out.
