It is really exciting for me to get this new design up. I’ve been on wordpress.com since I started and while that has served me well, it’s time to move on.
What’s New
Here is an overview of what has changed:
- The site is now wider. This gives more room for the sidebar and the content.
- Larger/wider youtube videos.
- Sidebar tabs. This lets me squeeze more content in without clutter.
- New color scheme, header photo, and tagline.
- New featured section on homepage. Gives a quick “about” and also lets me feature a post that will change regularly.
Known bugs:
- Comment threading isn’t displaying for previous posts, but is working for new posts. Hopefully this will get fixed.
Coming Soon: UF Forum
Now that I have my own hosting, I’ll be creating a forum. This is where the UF community can hang out and talk about whatever they want. Readers can create their own topics and share what they’re thinking. It’ll be great!
I’ll need a few moderators to keep a watch on things. It would require checking the forums throughout the day and being a peacekeeper. If you’re interested, please contact me.

Let me know what you think about the new design. Personally I feel it is much stronger. I know it’ll take a little getting used to for some of you. But I hope you like it!

Mmm, nice, still gotta adjust though… Better then the previous theme… as to the picture I had preferred this http://unreasonablefaith.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/header.jpg to the former one, yet now it’s so very different (colorful) I can’t say which I like more :-)
Maybe slightly to overwhelming with details (considered the size), still colours are good, this freshness is a good thing.

I see that I’m not the only one who has finally found his way around.
Nicely done! Glad you were able to work out the bugs and get things up and running. Love the bright/fresh/natural picture — to me, that gives a truer representation of what nonbelievers are like. We value the natural world and reality. The picture before, in retrospect, seemed serious and gloomy.

When I click a link in the Recent Comments sidebar on the right, I am taken to the top of the article, instead of down to the relevant comment. Is it possible to change that to the old behavior?

I really like this new website. However, I noticed that the order for posts is a little messed up. I think there is a problem with timezones. I just posted a comment and it was placed above other comments that I had read before I posted. My post was at 2:30ish pm and somehow it had posts at 5:40pm. Not a big deal obviously, but it could make the comment boards really weird to read
Well, it’s not as welcoming, but it’s very professional-looking. It ought to attract more repeat viewers, if Friendly Atheist is any example.
