Between these and those goblin sharks they found, I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere near Japanese waters! You want to never go in the water again, skip to :20 on the shark clip.
I’ve been swimming in Australian waters all my life and never been eaten by a shark, bitten by a sea snake or stung by a jelly. Really, it’s not that bad, I promise!
lol! Ok, so I didn’t swim in Darwin Harbour when I was there – I’m not completely crocodile and jelly-sting proof. I wouldn’t go swimming at dusk, or in murky waters near a deep channel, either. The worst thing that happened to me snorkelling in Queensland was nearly drowning myself with over-excitement when I saw my first turtle, though.
I’m quite sure they are not deep sea sharks – the diver in the video wouldn’t be able to dive too deep with the shown equipment. Well they could be deep sea sharks anyway, just the one shown in the movie must have been in relatively shallow waters compared to ‘deep sea’ ;).
They are a bit worried they might have a similar “problem” with some of the penguins at Melbourne Aquarium. http://tinyurl.com/or2jco
(Slapping boys over the head is such an effective way of getting their attention…!)
They have Giant Spider Crabs in the Chattanooga Aquarium, and even with 4-inch-thick glass between them and visitors, they are STILL scary as shit! (pardon my language, but it accurately conveys the proper amount of scariness.)
Never see “Starship Troopers” before going to see the Giant Spider Crabs.
As A Matter of Fact, Never see “Starship Troopers” OR go see Giant Spider Crabs.
That’s funny, the first thing I thought when I saw the crab was “Join the Mobile Infantry and save the Galaxy. Service guarantees citizenship. Would you like to know more?”
So here’s this giant enemy crab. What they should do is use the submarine there to flip over that crab on its back and attack its weak point for massive damage.
A bit sensationalistic, calling it “dead man’s crab, because it has been found feeding on the bodies of drowning victims”. Well, sea life is going to eat other sea life, whether “native” or “found”. An anthropocentric view of them as horrible does not have to follow from wanting to be safely out of dangerous creatures’ way. I thought both the spider crab and the goblin shark were wonderful.
It’s frustrating when channels put their tags in corners on the screen. I couldn’t see all of the eel that was quite interesting. Stop it NG, you’re ruining my view!
I think “other waters” in the night are not that dangerous in Japan.

I’m pretty sure that goblin sharks are deep sea sharks, so no worries there!
Also, I don’t fear Japanese waters, I fear Australian waters… sea snakes and tiny box jellies that can kill a person with one sting! Yikes!!!

Remember he said “ROV” – Remotely Operated Vehicle. That’s how they got the footage.
I think those twin sacks coming out of “her” body means “she” is a dude :P
You can never know with animals these days.
Gay penguins adopt

Twelve foot spider crabs, goblin sharks, black starfish with twenty limbs… I think I’ll stick with swimming pools.
Not hard to see where the Japanese get all their ideas for those monster movies. Didn’t Godzilla come out of the sea? :)
You mean “Gojira.”
