On a serious note, can anyone explain to me why christians see socialism as this ultimate evil? The early church that they so like reading about in there new testement was a socialist system. Angry God ™ even makes a reappearence when he murders two people for lying about how much they had to contribute to the church and trying to horde some for themselves.

Obama is whipping taxpayers, the elderly, and unborn fetuses with… health care? And if I’m hearing the woman correctly (“don’t hit me no more, master”), she’s a slave to Obama.
I like this interpretation:

I’m gonna summarize what I think I saw, please someone, tell me how much of it is right.
A man in an Obama mask and a bad suit walks behind a woman with what I’m assuming is a fetus tied to her waist with a phone cord and an old man using a walker. As they walk the man in the bad suit makes a whipping motion at them and then proceeds to flog the “fetus” the woman is dragging around for a few seconds before moving forward. They reach a wall, turn around and the man in the bad suit begins very gingerly flogging the old man and yelling something I can’t quite make out but assume involves the phrase “death panels”. As they move forward the woman with the fetus begins yelling “Don’t hit me masa!” in a way that just seems INCREDIBLY racist to the point where she may as well have been wearing black face and “jivin’ and shuckin’” along instead of walking.
Is that right? Is that what these people have just done?

Yep, trying to make health care available to all americans in the richest country ever is extremely similar to bieng a slave owner. And oh yeah the comparison of Obama to Hitler and a slave master makes soooooooooooo much sense.
The slave master thing is pretty hilarious considering a good deal of people against Obama are against him simply because he’s black.

Is it religious people that are against it? The same people that Bush was part of that torured prisoners all over the world and at the same time condemned Iraq for torturing people?
They think that everyone having Healthcare will lessen the effect of said Healthcare. But given that over 70% of the American population doesn’t have Healthcare, I’m willing to bet that people with money(that do have healthcare) are spreading lies so that they don’t have to share a hospital with the lower class.

That’s not so unusual. Entry-level jobs often don’t offer benefits, and in general young people don’t generally consume as much health care as the older age groups. I just got a new job, in my late 20s, and still don’t have coverage, and the same is true of many of the people I know in the same age-group.

Trust me, I agree. I’d rather have coverage. I just had a medical scare, and it nearly got much worse because I put off going to the doctor until I had the money to pay for it up front.
I am fortunate enough to have have coverage but it still is expensive. My problem is in the most enlightened and richest country in the history of the planet smart people do not have enough sense to realize the moral obligation to provide free and qaulity health care to its citizens. Not luxury care but quality, let the private insurers provide luxury care.
Am I the only one here who thinks the repubs are hypocrits for wanting to engrave christian slogans on our nations monuments but then at the same time fighting as hard as they can against universal health care.

Sort of seconded … it should be *afforable* and quality health care. Health care is never free, someone has to pay for it, but it should be available to all which includes but isn’t limited to free at the point of use.
Well, it ought to be available to those who can’t afford it too; but I guess that’s socialism. Then, hey, I’m a socialist.

I meant to say 2001 not 91. I agree with you Jabster it shouldnt be free because nothing is free. But to my mind there is no way that a gentleman such has Enope should not have insurance especially when you give the biggest tax break in history basically to the rich.
How big was that tax cut anyway I bet you it would have paid for health care for all americans for a good long while.
The conservative/fundies/repubs are so selective in thier displays of morality it sometimes is sickening.

I think the point I’m trying to make is that there is a difference between how to provide quality health caer to all and how that’s funded. Once you get over the first hurdle (and how the feck the US hasn’t don’t that I don’t know) then how it’s funded is a different question.
I agree with you Jabster. But I still think the repubs/conservs are practicing some serious selective morality. I mean I listen to cspan and npr most of the time instead of the commercial radio. I remember paying attention to the debate about the war in Iraq the repubs did none of signifying about deficits and when it came to starting that war.
The repubs didnt do all of that signifying when they passed those tax cuts mainly for the rich. They are the ones always whining about america bieng the city on the hill, a christian nation, against abortion blah, blah, blah but then when it comes to providing health care for all americans all of a sudden once again they are budget hawks.

I live in such a healtcare system and I see no evidence of lower health quality!
That does not mean that doctors and hospitals will try to get more money out of the system. We have this situation now here, that medicine is sometimes too expensive and doctors ask too much. But government is fighting it back forcing to back down.
Even though misuse does exist in healtcare, the endresult is that a lot more people get help they need.
For many years I saw these american TV shows where you see poor people beeing denied hospital. I alwasy thouht to be TV only, I mean something that is no for real. How disgusting I started to feel when I discovered that this was real!
