Benny Hinn Refused Entry Into UK

Benny HinnBenny Hinn won’t be allowed to swindle the faithful with his fraudulent “miracle shows” in Britain, since he was refused entry:

Benny Hinn, from Texas, who draws large crowds to his Pentecostal revival rallies, was turned back at Stansted airport under new rules on visiting ministers of religion.

Many thousands of Pentecostal Christians travelled from across Britain and Europe and booked long weekend breaks in the capital’s hotels for his mission at the ExCeL exhibition centre in Docklands, East London, which had been due to begin on Thursday night.

They were left disappointed after Border Agency officials turned him back when he landed with his private jet because he had failed to obtain a “letter of sponsorship” from a church.

Instead, Mr Hinn flew on to Paris and tried to enter Britain at Luton airport but was again turned back. He was on his way back to France last night.

Now if only the US will refuse to let him return…

Seriously though, all he needs is a “sponsorship from a church”? Sounds easy to get. It seems this was due to red tape, not because he’s a religious huckster. A shame.

Someone else was able to take up the cross for Benny though:

Instead, another pastor preached and requested donations of up to £1,000.

We’ve also perma-banned Fred Phelps and his eldest daughter from Britain, too. Now who’s awesome, eh?

    • Elemenope says:

Banning idiots? That’s, like, anti-awesome. A really awesome country would let them in and then mock them mercilessly to their faces.

      • Roger says:

Isn’t a nation banning the idiots the ultimate in mockery? As in, “You’re too damned stupid to even be allowed to enter our nation”?

        • Elemenope says:

Nah, that’s weak sauce. If that’s the best the Isles can come up with, I am not impressed.

          • Roger says:

I’m certain the Isles will take your displeasure under advisement.

            • Elemenope says:

My displeasure? Ha! They are encouraged to be less awesome than us. Without the British, we would have no culturally-acceptable targets to kick around except Canadians, and they’re close enough to hit back.

            • Jabster says:

“we would have no culturally-acceptable targets …”

You have a culture, well I must say you’ve hidden that rather well!

            • Custador says:

You’d get on well with my tattooist/piercer, Jabster. He was born in Cardiff but raised in Phoenix, AZ. He moved back here a couple of years ago, and rants at length about how America has “No real culture, man, just fuckin’ neck culture” (by which he seems to mean a culture of going for the throat and attacking the week). It’s all the more amusing because he has such a strong American accent :-)

            • Jabster says:

Most of my little jibes are in jest but things are only truely funny when there’s an element of truth in them!

My biggest problem is that a lot of my exposure to Americans has been in Dallas which has to have some of the worst people I have every encountered and neatly summed up probably every thing I dislike about America and made a city out of it. Fortunately America, like all countries, both lives up to the stereotypes and confounds them at the same time.

p.s. I’m not sure I can forgive any culture that thinks it’s acceptable for any male over the age of 12 to use the word awesome.

            • Fentwin says:

Don’t confue shallow shiny “pop culture” to what we really have to offer (short list)

              Carl Sandburg
              Louis Armstrong
              Jazz
              Tom Wolfe
              Hunter Thompson
              Gershwin
              Poe
              Paine
              Thoreau

            • Jabster says:

“Don’t confue shallow shiny “pop culture” to what we really have to offer.”

Well it’s tricky not to isn’t it. We bring you democracy, McDonald’s and Hollywood (including little Tom Cruise) … what more could be needed?

            • Elemenope says:

Who needs culture when you can simply be awesome?

            • Ty says:

I get this feeling that ‘culture’ just means, ‘things that your people have been doing so long that other people assume you invented it.’

When applied to a gigantic and diverse country that’s only a couple hundred years old, it seems like a definition specifically set up for us not to win.

Which is why we have a giant military instead. The playground bully may be dumber, uglier, and worse dressed than you, but he still gets to take your lunch money.

              Suck on that, Europe. :)

            • Elemenope says:

And considering that we’ve been picking up your messes for the last century or so (looking at you, Great Britain*), a little slack would not be out of order.

              *India/Pakistan
              Iraq/Kuwait
              Ireland
              Egypt
              Sri Lanka
              South Africa

            • Ty says:

              It’s true!

GB basically broke the whole world!

If it weren’t for the fact that you are statistically the bustiest nation on earth, we’d have gotten rid of you years ago.

            • Jabster says:

              @Nope

You forgot Israel/Palestine which the US has been oh so helpful in solving ;-)

              @Ty

“When applied to a gigantic and diverse country that’s only a couple hundred years old, it seems like a definition specifically set up for us not to win.”

              … and your point is?

            • Custador says:

Being statistically the bustiest nation on Earth justifies everything, ever.

            • Elemenope says:

You forgot Israel/Palestine which the US has been oh so helpful in solving ;-)

Damn, I knew I was missing a big one.

            • Jabster says:

              @Nope

You forgot the really big one. Can’t remember its name but it became independent with the help of the French … anyone?

            • Elemenope says:

              …the Dominion of Canada? ;)

            • Jabster says:

Nah — more brash, less cultured, invents sports that hardly anyone else wants to play and then calls them the World Series (contrast with for example the World Cup)

            • Ty says:

              Wait.

Did the country that plays cricket just make fun of anyone else’s sports?

              Tell me I misheard that.

            • Jabster says:

Cricket and baseball are very much the same thing — you sit around for hours watching nothing in particular happen. The big difference, hot dogs vs. cucumber sandwiches

            • Ty says:

Oh, you can’t fool me. I’ve seen cricket. The average baseball game is over in about 3 hours. Cricket goes on for days and days, and periodically all the players stop for tea.

              Seriously. W.T.F.

            • Jabster says:

There is a one day version you know and now even 20 20 cricket, which takes less than three hours!

    • George says:

As Dan said, it’s not because he’s a crook, it’s because he didn’t have affiliation with a UK church.

      • Custador says:

Actually, talking to some UKBA guys (I used to work for their predecessor, Customs), it’s because he didn’t have permission to work here. Revivals = his job.

        • George says:

I stand corrected! My Father is a missionary (more of that and our many, many battles if I ever get round to joining the forums!) and I assumed it was a similar situation to when he visits Pakistan, Russia, Burma etc., in that he has to have a letter of invitation that he can show to the Pakistan high commission or whomever before he’s allowed a visa.

    • trj says:

You did the same to L. Ron Hubbard back in 1968. Good job.

    • I am glad that Britain bans obvious kooks.

    • solomon says:

I believe all these so called lying snakes should be forced to pass a mandatory lie detector test proving:
      1. Were you chosen by God to heal the sick and dying.
      2.Does God talk to you.
3.Do you lie to your flock, when you tell them “ALL” the money goes to the LORD.
4.Did you appoint yourself in this position to get rich.
5.Do you travel the world gathering large crowds, specifically to get lots of money, or sincerely heal them.
      6. When did God call on you, and grant you these super powers.
      7. If you are proven to be a liar, that God hasn’t chosen you at all., will you be willing to quit this charade, or face life in prison, for grand larceny.

      • coffeejedi says:

These guys are well rehearsed and practiced charlatans. I don’t know if a simple polygraph is enough to stop them.

      • JAF says:

YOUR RIGHT……I called the 800 number on coontz tv show they asked if I was giving a seed, I asked why do you need money and why dont you ask god ? also said you people need to read more Stephen Hawkings books… they hung up …………

  2. mikespeir says:

Imagine all those hurting people who won’t be healed now! (sigh)

  3. Sock says:

[blockquote]Instead, another pastor preached and requested donations of up to £1,000.[/blockquote]

Per person? I wouldn’t be surprised.

    • Oceans Dream says:

Hahaha. Well I don’t have a job yet, maybe I could try doing this, it seems prophetable.

I wonder how far I’d get until I tell the congregation “Hey I was an atheist all this time”. But I couldn’t deceive people like that, I’m a terrible liar.

    • Yoav says:

      These private jets are expensive.

  4. Matthew says:

    I am, uh . . . a minster, ya . . . and, uh . . . I locked myself out of my house.
Can you all please send me $ to fix this problem?

  5. It still makes for a nice headline. Hopefully while he’s off trying to get a letter arranged, the gov’t can come up with a better reason t ban him for life.

Doesn’t anyone remember 4 people left a hospital in kenya to attend one of his healing seminars and *le gasp* died there?

That should be reason enough. More people have been confirmed dead at a Benny Hinn conference than have been confirmed healed. No wonder they call them Crusades.

  6. I just realized my name was too long and the “s” was being chopped off the end.

    There.

  7. Hans says:

That’s a misleading title if ever there was one. “Refused entry” is not exactly the same as “refused to enter,” is it?

Oh, and I am requesting donations of up to a gazillion dollars. I wonder how many I’ll actually get?

    • nomad says:

The faith healer was quoted as saying, “There are some places even angels fear to tread!”

    • Daniel Florien says:

They seem the same to me. He wasn’t allowed to enter. Thus he was refused to enter. Thus his entry was refused. Thus he was refused entry.

      I don’t see how it’s misleading.

      • wintermute says:

The difference is that Britain would “refuse entry” to Benny Hinn. Benny Hinn would “refuse to enter” Britain. It switches the active party in the decision-making process.

  8. Zotz says:

Good on the Brits. “…in his private jet” I bet Jeebus would approve, huh?

  9. zack says:

it really saddens me that he can still afford a private jet after all his shenanigans being revealed, so many willfully ignorant people……….. what to do with them……….. thats one of our biggest problems.

    • Nelly says:

      my thoughts exactly

that’s why they are usually referred to as sheep. will follow ignorantly, and easily fleeced!

    • Solube says:

Nelly, ‘Willfully ignorant people’? I think its non of your business whether Benny Hinn has a Jet or not. U should keep your worldly primitivity to your business. I think u are not a preacher so u know nothing about preaching the gospel!!

      • LRA says:

Do you think Jesus would have had a private jet? No? Well then. Perhaps Benny Hinn is a hypocrite as well as a liar.

        • solube says:

Well LRA, Jesus had the best mode of transport that could enable Him to preach the gospel then. If you study the scriptures thoroughly, you’ll see that Jesus was not actually broke as the religious people of this day have led us to believe. Jesus was rich!! He had the blessing of Abraham upon His life and He even said He had come to preach the Gospel to the poor.

          • Custador says:

I love Christards who try to justify that their tithes have gone towards making their preacher obscenely wealthy instead of towards worthy charitablw works. They’re just so stridently in denial of the obvious truth.

  10. Erp says:

The title is misleading, it implies that Benny Hinn was refusing to enter but could have chosen otherwise not that Benny Hinn was denied entry.

Hmm, checking http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/managingborders/managingmigration/apointsbasedsystem/howitworks he seems to fall under Tier 5 category 3 Temporary worker – religious workers: for people coming to the United Kingdom to work temporarily as a religious worker. It seems the sponsor must be from a approved list and you do it ahead of time.
    http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/tier5/religiousworkers/

    • Daniel Florien says:

Ah, I see how it could be read differently. It could make sense either way. I’m always up for clarity, so I’ve update the title to:

“Benny Hinn Refused Entry Into UK”

  11. Felix says:

“MinistryWatch.com calls upon donors to prayerfully consider withholding contributions to Benny Hinn Ministries/World Outreach Church (BHM) in
response to facts and allegations regarding reports that Hinn:
    • Lives a lavish lifestyle with funds intended for charitable purposes;
    • Preaches a self-serving prosperity theology message;
    • Manipulates individuals at “healing crusades” for personal gain;
    • Makes unsubstantiated claims of healings;
    • Is nontransparent and lacks independent board oversight.
These facts, aired in March on NBC DATELINE – coupled with MinistryWatch.com’s previously stated concerns about Hinn espousing the selfserving “prosperity theology” message – has caused MinistryWatch.com to recommend that donors consider redirecting their gifts to one of the many biblically-based ministries that are not only more transparent in their dealings with the public but also treat donor’s funds as a sacred trust dedicated exclusively for the Lord’s work.”

  12. Fentwin says:

    @ jabster

    You forgot Taco Bell! :)

    • Jabster says:

TBH the likes of Taco Bell, KFC etc. I think are ok as they give the opportunity to have some that’s hot, reasonable priced, almost edible, consistent and quick which is something we didn’t have in the UK. Still wouldn’t go in one but I can see why people do. The ones I have problems with are StarBucks (how on earth did they convince people that £2+ is the right price for a cup of coffee) and Subway (we have a decent range of sandwich shops already which are a) cheaper and b) have nicer food). StarBucks really pi**es me off as it has also made coffee fashionable and supplanted tea. I wouldn’t mind so much if it wasn’t for the fact that they couldn’t make a proper cup of tea if their life depended on it.

      • Mogg says:

That’s alright, Jabster, in my opinion (influenced by the hundreds of good coffee shops in my home town), Starbucks can’t make good coffee, either. Starbucks recently had to shut down half their outlets in Oz, which caused a lot of people to snigger.

  13. Elizabeth says:

Benny Hinn’s site said the stand-in was Bishop John Francis – but he was the choir / worship songs leader. The preacher was a ‘Dr Todd’ and the worship leader was a Pastor Jim. Anyone know their full names? And who is ‘Martin’ who Benny Hinn praised. Yep – our dear Pastor Benny was there by telephone link with a lovely picture of him in a blue suit. I wondered why not a video link, people would have loved to see him in person.
And BTW it seemed like a typical Benny Hinn extravanza to one who was there.

    • Elizabeth says:

Sorted some of it. Jim Cernero was the choir / song leader. Dr Todd Coontz was the preacher.
Don’t know the name of the ginger-haired man worship leader. Nor who ‘Martin’ is. Nor whether Bishop John Francis was present (Benny Hinn said this was the man who stood in for him).

  14. pity i though England was a country of freedom of religion but apperently it became a freedom to everything exept Christianity pity

  15. Greenhorn says:

I’m surprised this guy’s little miracle acts are still allowed in the USA. They show constantly on the Trinity Broadcasting Network… even after he was proved to be a flat-out con-artist.

  16. Eupraxsophy says:

Now if only the U.S. would refuse entry to all the other con-artist like B.H.. Or better yet just send them all to Antartica where they can sell their snake-oil to some penguin. That would do away with about half of Texas, and not the better half. And while I’m on the subject we could also send all the dumb-ass Republicans and their so called Christian moral values down there as well. They could call their new country; The Land of Odd.

    • Elizabeth says:

Why do you hoist your problems on to Antarctica? That’s not fair. I happen to like penguins (and the south Atlantic). Better to stand these people up against the wall and shoot ‘em in the USofA, of course.

  17. Jack Thornton says:

am answer to prayer that all false prophets will be stomped

  18. Sadie says:

Is atheism a religion or a loose group against the Christan God. I’ve never known of an atheist who condemns Allah to Muslims well openly that is, ever or anywhere. Just wondering.

    • vorjack says:

We all do, but it’s rather pointless to condemn the believers who live 2,000 miles away. As an American, I can condemn Muslims all day (and many Christians would agree with me) but it wouldn’t do much to change the religious culture of America.

If you want to see atheists who regularly deal with Islam, you need to look for atheists who come from Muslim dominated areas. Folks like Ibn Warraq for example, or the blogger KafirGirl.

  19. Sadie says:

Oh and who are the atheist leaders that atheists follow? Would they be like gods?

  20. Sadie says:

Oh so atheism is by culture? So not atheism against a God as such, but a God from the paticular culture you’re in. Not trying to be funny – just trying to understand.

    • Nzo says:

We’re not “against” any god. That would insinuate that we believe in one. We do not believe in anything supernatural. It wouldn’t matter if you were going door to door preaching about Zeus, Mithras, Jesus, Muhammad, Santa Clause, or the Easter Bunny, you’d likely get the same response.

We don’t ‘follow’ any leaders, though some of the more vocal atheists tend to be admired – often merely for their ability to say what they feel and not have their lives ruined by hateful zealots.

There is nothing remotely like ‘god’ to us, not in the sense you mean. No sentient deity, or supernatural being.

      • Elizabeth says:

Nzo – excellent summary, I think.

For myself = I am a non-theist. This means, to me, that I have no god but accept that others create their own gods who/which are very meaningful and valuable to them. Sometimes these gods do good, sometimes not, in my opinion.

I have no leader and do not persecute religious people – I just think they are mistaken.

I am still learning, having been a Christian fo nearly 60 years before I was ‘converted’.

      • Len says:

I believe in Angels, but maybe not the kind that you think.

  21. Sadie says:

That’s interesting Nzo. So would you be offended when people tell children that Santa is not real?

    • Nzo says:

I’m not sure that came out the way you meant it.

The whole idea of Santa Clause is anathema to me.

Though I also find indoctrinating children with whatever various religion hateful, doing so with something every adult KNOWS is false is blatant child abuse.

  22. Sadie says:

What about killers who say voices in my head told me to kill or in their sleep. that’s another thing – DREAMS! I’ve been to places in my dreams seen and spoken to people I’ve never met in my dream. Isn’t that kind of supernatural? It is like an out of body experience.

    • Nzo says:

More people have been killed because the killer’s god told them to than all the anonymous ‘voices in my head’ ever could.

If one is unable to tell the difference between a dream and reality, there’s a good chance this issue started at a young age… perhaps with stories of Santa Clause?

How exactly would dreams be supernatural?

  23. Sadie says:

So people who let their children believe in Santa are worse than Christians, Muslims, Hindu’s, etc

    • Nzo says:

The parents who deliberately lie to their offspring? yep.

I can’t fault parents for honestly trying to do what’s right for their children, (i.e. indoctrinating them,) but I do not tolerate deliberately lying to a child about something that becomes so important to them that they spend at least a good two months every year trying to suck-up to an imaginary jerk that gives more presents to the rich kids regardless.

  24. Sadie says:

    Anti-Santaism.

  25. Sadie says:

Because I can just translate my self from one place to another in a split second to where I’ve never been before but it seems so real. I’ve woken up in a sweat and afraid because of a dream.

    • Nzo says:

      Translocate*

There’s no doubt that dreams are weird, but the truth is, you stay right where you are. You don’t move.

  26. Sadie says:

that’s true but I’m talking about non religious people.

    • Nzo says:

I assume you’re referring to the ‘voices’ comment?

Please hit the “reply” button next to the comment you wish to reply to.

At any rate, those with ‘voices’ in their head could be mentally ill. Or maybe, just maybe, they’re going for the “guilty, but mentally ill” plea to avoid the death penalty, since they’ve obviously been caught.

  27. calvin says:

shame on the border officials, using the escuse of no ‘letter-or sponsorship’ to continue the persecution of notable christians-pray for UK.

    • Custador says:

Go fuck yourself. We don’t want your prayers and we don’t want your twisted religious con artists. Blockign Hinn doesn’t persecute anybody – it prevents him from being able to prey (note the spelling) on vulnerable members of our society.

      • Solube says:

Custador, I dont think your language is needed. It’s non of your business what people believe in or where their money goes to. You have followed too many episodes of big brother so u think you can rule and control any one! Bottom-line is go get a job and leave Christian business to Christians!!

        • LRA says:

Well, we would except that you all proselytize. And that’s a problem. You spread your ignorance like a virus and it ends up being bad for society as a whole.

          • solube says:

            so you are the society!!

            • LRA says:

no. but laying aside your critical thinking skills in order to have “faith” is a very bad idea in the information age. If you can’t discern reasonable claims from fictional ones, you aren’t exactly adding to human progress, are you?

        • Jabster says:

“… leave Christian business to Christians!!”

I presume you think that should apply to all religions and indeed pretty much any identified group?

          • solube says:

jabster, Jesus said He knows who are truly His! True Christians don’t have to be in the main stream Christianity that even permits homosexual bishops! True Christians are well defined by Mark16:17. The said these signs shall follow those who believe. So just look for the signs Jesus gave, then you will know the true Christians.

            • trj says:

Yeah, that’s a foolproof solution. I mean, it’s not like anyone could disagree over what signs Jesus gave.

            • Jabster says:

“The said these signs shall follow those who believe. So just look for the signs Jesus gave, then you will know the true Christians.”

If it’s so well defined then why are the some many different Christian sects?

Do you believe that the what is likely to be at least many, many 10,000s of Christians who have differing views from yours don’t believe that are true Christians. Who says that you’ve read the signs correctly from a book that even contridicts itself?

            • solube says:

So you are claiming that the bible contradicts itself? I think you need to study it and not just read it. Many people know nothing about the bible because they do not study it. You should study to show yourself approved unto God then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free! The bible doesn’t contradict itself but rather you misunderstand it.

            • Yoav says:

Study the buybull is a code for shutting your eyes sticking finger in ears and go LA LA LA really loud to make sure you don’t happen to notice how big a heap of bullsh*t is your beloved magic book of fairytales.

            • trj says:

If by “study” you mean “accept far-fetched apologetics” as explanations for the contradictions.

Contradictions such as the Amalekites who were completely wiped out – twice, actually – yet still continued to fight the Israelites.

Or Judas who threw his thirty silver coins to the ground and went and hanged himself, yet also used the money to buy a plot of land.

            • Nox says:

“True Christians are well defined by Mark16:17″

Why is it every time I see someone arguing for the bible it is someone who has never read the bible? Try the verse after Mark 16:17. According to a guy who never met your imaginary pal, Jesus actually listed a couple other signs of a true christian beyond commanding imaginary creatures and speaking in gibberish. The fourth out of five on Jesus’ special check list (Mark’s version of it anyway) is “if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them”.

So if true christians ™ want to identify themselves to the rest of us perhaps they should take the advice of their lord and savior and demonstrate their faith with a nice bottle of draino ™. Or perhaps if they want a more visible demonstration of their true christianity ™ they could take Jesus’ advice from Matthew 5:30 and cut off their right hand. That’ll show those secular progressives and homosexual bishops.

I guarantee that I do a lot more to help people every single day than your imaginary sky-daddy does, mate. Also, I don’t have a TV and think Big Brother is shite.

    • Darwin says:

Persecution of Christians? Last time I checked Christianity was still the largest religion on Earth and every President of the US was still a Christian. Stop acting like you’re the minority.

  28. spinkle says:

its about time someone took action to stop him he makes a complete mockery out of the Christian faith asking us to sow seeds of over 1 thousand pounds into his ministry . yet Jesus said we should give to the poor and needy not greedy maybe every one should offer him are fathers love

    • Sunny Day says:

I really don’t think you can lay the blame for making a mockery of the christian faith at Benny Hinn’s feet. Take you for example. Your ridiculous beliefs and book do an outstanding job of it by themselves.

  29. spinkle says:

And on the other comments about slagging off Christians just look how the world has become there might be a hand full of sexually immoral priests it just shows we all are not perfect and I must say there is far more outside the Christian faith than inside it and I must say the world is a total mess so who are you to stand there and judge Christians you bunch of hypocrites and before you leave some silly vial comment just think how perfect you are first can you stand and say I am 100% perfect I am 100% faultless that i can stand and judge others so badly I am far from perfect are you ?

    • Nox says:

There are more sexually immoral priests outside the christian faith than inside it? How many priests of any kind do you think there are outside of christianity?

      http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/belgium/7994705/No-Belgian-church-escaped-sex-abuse-finds-investigation.html

    • Sunny Day says:

“just look how the world has become there might be a hand full of sexually immoral priests it just shows we all are not perfect and I must say there is far more outside the Christian faith than inside it ”

Really? The catholic church is an organization that facilitates child rape and protects the rapists. Just how many other Child Rape Organizations do you know about and why are you protecting them with your continued silence?

    • Yoav says:

I’m far from perfect but I never raped a child (or an adult) and I never covered up for someone who raped a child. I never spread lies to suppress the use of the most effective means to stop the spread of deadly disease. I never advocated the denial of basic human rights to people based on their gender or sexual orientation. I never tried to stop research into potentially life saving treatment based on a bronze age idea that equate a single cell with a human being. I never used political influence to replace scientific facts with mythology in schools. So no I’m not perfect but I can definitely judge the christian (and other) faith.

  30. spinkle says:

also check out evolution it is nothing but theory thats why its the evolution theory check some of the history webs about early man it proves they are all fake and there is no proof that man evolved from apes and ware is it today did evolution just stop! you are believing in what some man has said yet there is no hard evidence that its the truth you only have theory stop judging others and judge your self on your own faults first

  31. spinkle says:

and I am not judging you

  32. spinkle says:

and as I said I am far from perfect as you can tell by my English what are your faults or are you perfect

  33. spinkle says:

one more thing about judging before you judge me try removing the rocks from your own eyes before removing the grain of sands from others

    • Sunny Day says:

Aw yes the silly defense, ” You have to be perfect before you can judge me”.

No we don’t. You’re up there defending child rape as if everyone does it.

  34. spinkle says:

in modern science the term “theory”, or “scientific theory” is generally understood to refer to a proposed explanation of empirical phenomena, made in a way consistent with the scientific method. Such theories are preferably described in such a way that any scientist in the field is in a position to understand, verify, and challenge (or “falsify”) it. In this modern scientific context the distinction between theory and practice corresponds roughly to the distinction between theoretical science and technology or applied science. As you can see a proposed explanation meaning I think this is what happened but I cant say it is what happened

    • Sunny Day says:

So you mix up a bowl of Copy Pasta and dump it on us. Tacking on the end are your own words, “As you can see a proposed explanation meaning I think this is what happened but I cant say it is what happened” which demonstrates that you missed the point.

Proof of a sort. We can teach a dog to sing, but it will not know what the song means.

  35. spinkle says:

I have one more thing to say and that’s YOU CAN CALL ME WHAT YOU WANT BUT IT DOES NOT MATTER TO ME AS THE ONLY THING WHAT MATTERS TO ME IS HOW I TREAT YOU AND OTHERS .And I confess I copied the explantion to the word theory from winkipidia here is another
1 a coherent group of general propositions used as principles of explanation for a class of phenomena: Einstein’s theory of relativity.
    2.
a proposed explanation whose status is still conjectural, in contrast to well-established propositions that are regarded as reporting matters of actual fact.

    • Yoav says:

OK, I’ll bite. Theory in the scientific context uses the 1st definition. A scientific theory is a coherent explanation to the observable facts. In spite of what you may have read on answers in genesis evolution is supported by a lot of facts, and no there is no evidence that all human fossils are fake like you were trying to claim (there were a couple of fakes but they have been exposed by scientists). Evolution didn’t stop and is continuing and can be observed today so get your head out of your rectum and go educate yourself.

      • spinkle says:

check this out what I found this info on museum of hoaxes and there is allot more out there to nothing to do with religion though Neanderthal Hoax Exposed
A sensational archaeological hoax has been exposed in Germany. It’s been revealed that Professor Reiner Protsch von Zieten, a professor at a University in Frankfurt, has been systematically lying about the ages of skulls he found, claiming that they were far older than they actually were. In one instance he said that a skull was 21,300-years-old, although it was only 1300-years-old. As the Guardian reports:

“Anthropology is going to have to completely revise its picture of modern man between 40,000 and 10,000 years ago,” said Thomas Terberger, the archaeologist who discovered the hoax. “Prof Protsch’s work appeared to prove that anatomically modern humans and Neanderthals had co-existed, and perhaps even had children together. This now appears to be rubbish.”

Apparently Prof. Protsch began his career as a forger when he returned from studying in America decades ago and discovered that he was unable to work a carbon-dating machine. So he just started making up the ages of things.

        • spinkle says:

and there is many more sites proving that other forms of early man was Hoaxed The founder of evolution his self hoaxed his on early man findings to but why do so many still believe in this and teach it in school even though it is a proven hoax .and what happened to evolution did it just stop and say i am satisfied with what I have made what the scientists do is take a group of physical facts and try to put them together to produce a theory to the unexplained but its still a theory otherwise it would become the truth .And just to finish maybe I do believe in evaluation because at the current time this world is in a state of devolution

          • trj says:

The founder of evolution his self hoaxed his on early man findings

Darwin never made any findings on human evolution. So it would be a little difficult for him to hoax them, don’t you think?

        • burpy says:

          If that were the only piece of evidence that Neanderthals and modern humans co-existed then you would be right. But it isn´t… and you´re not;

          http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/07/science/07neanderthal.html

Neanderthal DNA has been discovered in certain populations of modern humans, strongly suggesting that they interbred.

          • Jabster says:

            @burpy

No I’m sorry you’re flat out wrong … little spinkle pants has proved that god exists as someone in science was found to be dishonest thereby meaning that everything that science has every discovered must be wrong!

        • Jabster says:

Shock horror, not all people who practise science are honest therefore evolution is a lie and therefore my god exists – yeh nice logic there sherlock.

Do you honestly think an intelligence like yours points to intelligent creator?

Hint: The answer no unless he/she/it has a damn good sense of humour …

        • trj says:

Just to put a less sensationalist spin on Terberger’s quote [source]:

“On the other hand, Professor Chris Stringer of the Department of Palaeontology at London’s Natural History Museum, says that Hahnhöfersand Man [The fossil which Protsch was claiming to be a Neanderthal]:

was never regarded as a Neanderthal and was briefly important in the 1980s to people like Gunter Brauer, who were arguing for gene flow between Neanderthals and modern humans. However, as anyone who is familiar with the palaeoanthropological literature over the last 20 years would know, the find has been of negligible significance to recent debate.”

Rewriting human history? Maybe not so much.

          • spinkle says:

check this one out to Piltdown Turkey
The supposed fossil of Archaeoraptor, which was to become known as the “Piltdown turkey”, came to light in 1999 when National Geographic magazine published an account of its discovery. It seemed to show another missing link – this time between birds and dinosaurs. Archaeoraptor appeared to be the remains of a large feathered bird with the tail of a dinosaur. The fossil was smuggled out of China and sold to a private collector in the US for £51,000. Experts were suspicious and closer examination showed the specimen to be a “composite” – two fossils stuck together with strong glue.
and i seem to remember that it says all about the hoaxes on the museum of natural history and that there is no connection between man and ape the only true form which was found was too much like modern man to prove anything why would they print something which was wrong

            • Nox says:

If evolution is an incorrect theory, then how do you explain a fish walking on land?

              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGqae7vuUWo

            • trj says:

Somebody made a forgery which most archaeologists initially dismissed and which was soon after revealed, by scientists, to indeed be a hoax. So what exactly is your point? That science is not to be trusted because it exposes scientific forgery?

As for the second part of your post it’s too incoherent to address properly.

            • Bender says:

              @Spinkle:
You’re an ignorant and a fool, and you know nothing about evolution or science. In your idiocy you think hoaxes like this descredit science, when in fact it does the exact opposite: it shows science is self-correcting. When actual scientists examined the “fossil” (as opposed to smugglers, or private collectors), they expossed the hoax. If this had been a religious matter, you’d have a schism and new religion.

  36. spinkle says:

so tell me what you think the word theory means

  37. spinkle says:

All you have done is spout off vial non-constructive defensive trash and i am not defending child rape any form of rape sexual misconduct is wrong but you cant tell me still what your faults are

  38. It is a positive step in the right direction to see governments closing the door to these preachers who proslatize for money under the guise of healing crusades. I have been a faithful believer in our Lord Jesus Christ for may years, but due to the financial abuse of media preachers, I have backed away from all this media ministry nonsence. Many who are giving to these so-called ministries are deceived and unaware that most of the charatible tithes and donations go toward luxurious mansions and vehicles, with a small percentage toward the mimistry itself. Interestingly- I have researched The Mormon Church-LDS and found that many of their presidents live in fairly modest homes. When Jesus ministered on earth, He never travelled around in a gold plated chariot with four white stallions. He was the son of God and yet stepped down from glory ministering with the Father’s humble and contrite heart. Thank you.
