I like how Scholea can’t think of any secular way of honoring the dead. It is literally beyond his imagination to avoid religion in a national monument.
But seriously, “some conglomerate of a cross, a Star of David, and . . . a Moslem half moon and star” would be just as religious and just as unconstitutional as the current monument (not to mention the fact that the crescent moon and star isn’t really an Islamic symbol per se, but a symbol of the Ottoman Empire adapted by other Islamic nations). The whole point is that religion is personal, not national, in monuments as much as anywhere else.
“The cross represents everybody. Christians and people who are going to hell.”
lol
Colbert, who is Catholic, doesn’t flinch in the face of fatuous bigotry – I love that man.
“A smug look…”
HAWESOME!

Um, there is no edit button, but I somehow horribly mangled Justice Scalia’s name.
That’s okay, it made his name sound like a new type of STD…”I have a horrible case of Scholea…”
Common symptoms include verbal diarrhea and lack of brain function.
