Wahabis Promise to Burn Down Allah Baby’s House

Religious stars attract two kinds of kooks — the ones that worship them and the ones that hate them. The baby who has verses written on his leg (which are then claimed to be written by Allah) is now being threatened by Wahabis:

Wahabis have repeatedly threatened to burn down the house of Shamil and Madina Yakubovs from the Dagestan village of Krasnooktyabrskoye, after phrases from the Koran began appearing on the body of their nine-month-old son.

“They found it only unnatural that Allah showed his signs through a boy born in a family of a police officer! Wahabis consider us kafirun (the unbelievers – IF),” Magomed-Kadyr, the boy’s grandfather said as quoted by Komsomolskaya Pravda daily on Monday.

According to him, their house was approached by a Gazel car in broad daylight, which brought a group of armed Wahabis. They demanded to show them the baby. Then they left threatening to come back. After that, Said Murtazaliyev, head of the district, provided them with a group of six security guards.

One is tempted with the notion that we should just let them all destroy one another. Alas, though, the rest of us get caught in the middle and, worse, we end up stuck with the winner.

How DARE Allah choose to communicate with someone other than US! How DARE he!!!

You know, they could just do what the parents of the baby are doing and just iron their own divine messages on whatever part of their bodies they like.

  3. I wonder if they’ll admit it was a hoax to avoid having their house burned down.

I wonder if that’s the real motivation for the Wahabis.

    • arrakis says:

I think they’re in a lose-lose situation…if they admit that it is a hoax, all those thousands of people could possibly turn on them in return for their being duped. Or the Wahabis would have even more reason to attack them for blasphemy.

      • Maybe it’s a win. If their house is burned down, they will look like martyrs and be worshipped by their people.

However, their people may attack the Wahabis in retaliation starting yet another ridiculous war.

Thanks for posting. I don’t know that they see it as blasphemy – my reading so far is that Muslims of different sects are afraid to say that they think it is a hoax out of fear that Big Al really *is* making these verses appear on the baby, because of they say that they think it is a hoax, then he could burn them for eternity for not having true eemaan (faith). It’s like the Allah fish – people were afraid to say it wasn’t real in case Big Al really was giving proof of his existence in a fish. (http://www.wikiislam.com/wiki/Allah%27s_Favorite_Fish)

While I wouldn’t call what the family is doing ‘harmless’, necessarily, it pales in comparison to the threat from Wahabism, imo. They are willing to threaten and harm their own over perceived missteps – what about us? There is also the underlying subtext of the Wahabis perhaps using this as a front for their attempts to attack someone who works for the state as a police officer. Sunni Islam is very much about the authority of the state, not revolution against it, so Wahabis who engage in violence against Muslim states need excuses like this to attack officials, leaders, police, etc.

Hey, say what you will about the Wahabi, I can’t eat sushi without it.

reminds me of witch hunts. We will outgrow this. In a billion years “we” will be as unrecognizable as we currently are to bacteria. Time will move on – life will go on – even if there is no point to it.
